RAM Mounts RAP-B-201U-A Composite Double Socket Arm - Short Arm Compatible with B Size 1" Ball Components

Not what it was supposed to be. Needed a ram mount adapter to mate a 1 1/2" ball to a 1 " ball. In one spot says 1" on one end and 11/2" on other end. No so same on both ends. Also checked Ram web site same thing. So how do I connect a 1" ball to a 12/2 " ball??

RAM is one of the first companies that produced these for whatever you want to use them for, so they're the industry standard as far as quality. They're all sized to use the same dimension (like 1 inch) so you can mix or match components as you wish, or change the length of the connector to better suit your job with confidence. These short connectors work for just about anything, and they're less expensive now than they ever were before. I like how easy it is to take them apart and reassemble, thanks to those little springs allowing you to push the ball-head into the connector without having to juggle or have an extra hand. The hold is adequate, but as you use them that only becomes better as the balls become more rounded and roughened-up on a surface-level for a better grip.

I found Ram mounts a few years ago and love them. Just purchased a couple more pieces, so my review is copy and pasted from my updated review from a previous purchase.RAM mounts are still the best mount I've found. Not going to find anything better. Very simple design that's brilliantly executed. I've never been satisfied with other options such as suction cups or double sided tape mounts. They'll all fail at some point. Then a few years ago I discovered Ram mounts. Made my first purchase and I couldn't have been happier. I've now purchased multiples of the 1" ball for camera mounting over the years for various applications. My most current usage was to mount a 6" cell phone on the dash of a 2012 Camry for Pandora/Google Maps. I wanted something secure and adjustable, yet easy to remove. Ram fits the bill. The whole thing comes out very easily. I removed the trim piece and disconnected the clock from it. Marked out my holes for the 2" x 1.7" Ram mounting plate. I mounted the base plate with black bolts to blend in with everything. I also sandwiched a small piece of black rubber shelf liner to eliminate any possible squeaking. Whilst the dash is fairly flat where I mounted it there is a very slight curve. The 1" ball mount for cameras get attached to the upper part of the Vastar Universal Smartphone Tripod Adapter, the short composite Ram arm connects it all together. I also drilled another hole in the clock trim piece to run a USB cable in-dash behind the radio. I used the 3/4" phone/fax grommet to finish it off and give a professional look.I couldn't be more happy with how this turned out. It's very easy to use and it's something that can be quickly removed if I don't want to leave it in the car. The only thing that stays behind is the mounting plate that's bolted to the dash and the USB cable. I think car's should come with something similar to this.
