Has anyone used these to put into a cake? Obviously they will be used to decorate the outside of the cake after its been baked.

Be aware that these String Project Poster Lights have much more wiring and space between them then some smaller LED lights. If you are using them to decorate the outside of a cake after it is baked, my only concern would be the functionality of the lights if frosting gets on the wiring. Greetings: The length is not noted on the package. As per ArtSkills... -Just the wire with the lights is approximately 9 feet long. The battery compartment, which is attached at the end of the wire, is approximately 3 1/8 inches long. Hope this helps! Cheers, Phocas101

do they come in red lights only? or colored lights?

They are a clear white. They do not come in colors that I know of, but this company also makes stars with tiny flashing red lights. I have tried them but I like these much better. If you get the stars, be aware that the batteries cannot be replaced and they are, essentially, disposeable.

Sorry that I can't answer your question. I only used them for my child's science project display board and was only used indoors.
