NINESTARS CB-DZT-50-13/12-13 Automatic Touchless Infrared Motion Sensor Trash Can Combo Set, 13 Gal 50L & 3 Gal 12L, Stainless Steel Base (Oval, Silver/Black Lid)

The order came as promised. I have been using these for a month and can say they are good quality and enjoy using them. I have one in the kitchen and one in my bathroom they work great. They open quickly and allow you to throw your items away without it closing to fast.

I finally replaced a 25+ year old 13gal push-button plastic trash can in my kitchen. After all those years, the button was a little sensitive; plus opening it for something like coffee grounds always required wiping the lid after. I didn't want my trash can in the open kitchen floor. This was the second one I tried; the first wouldn't work in the pantry. I found the "sweet spot" for this one in the pantry is 3" from the door. It does tap the bottom shelf a little when it opens, but it opens when I want it to & closes when I'm done, regardless of whether the door is open or closed. After the new trash cans arrived, when my daughter came over, I handed her something & asked her to throw it in the trash while I watched from the office. She opened the pantry, bent to toss it & asked "How does it close?"; I told her it would close by itself because of the motion sensor. Hours later I opened the pantry & saw the lid still open. I PMed her "You pushed the button, didn't you?". She had. So I made a quick video to show her how it works; it's attached here. I thought the smaller can was going to replace the wastebasket in my home office, but I chose to put it in the garage to replace the old pedal can that never seemed to open as much as I wanted it to.

The attachment lid on this product self destructed and broke into several pieces as I was putting trash in the can. I brought this product in February 2025 now it's December 2025 10 months later the attachment on the lid self destructed. Not good.

UPDATE - The company did reach out and gave us some instructions on resetting the automatic lid. Those instructions worked and the unit is working great again. Customer service was very helpful. We have purchased two of these. We loved the trash can itself but our first one quit working after about 1 1/2 years. Since we were happy with it, we decided to try another one and bought it at the end of May of this year. It has already quit working. We have cleaned the sensor and changed the batteries but it is broken just like the first one. It will not automatically open anymore. The light just flickers. Very annoying that it didn't last. I have contacted the company but received a message that they moved and they sent a new email to use. I then sent a message to that email but did not get a response. It goes without saying that we won't purchase a Ninestar trash can again. As mentioned, it was a good trash can while it worked but it shouldn't need to be replaced so often.

I really envy these no touch dash cans but when the small can stopped performing properly found the small plastic box that holds the batteries had snapped off with one og the connections and the only way tou se the "no touch" lid was to duct tape the lid to hold the batteries in place.

I wasn’t going to go with a hands-free trashcan, however, the video really sold me. The product is every bit as sleek and easy to use as advertised. And a great value for the money with two trash cans for the price of one!

I think maybe if we hadn't had a SimpleHuman touchless trash can before this that maybe I'd view it more favorably. Our prior trash can worked beautifully for 5 years and when it finally died, to replace it with the same brand would be almost twice as expensive as this one. It had great reviews so what the heck, let's try it. Bottom line is we're returning it and replacing it with the new version of the SimpleHuman can. This unit, the sensor doesn't always detect motion so it can be frustrating to get it to open, then it opens really quickly which can be handy, but then it closes at the same speed and does a very poor job of sensing if our hands are still in range and putting things in, so every day it would close on our hands. And, the way you put bags in and the design of the lid is poor. You put the bag in and need to use a separate ring and then fold the bag over the ring and into the can to get the bag not to show once the lid's in place. And that makes replacing a bag a pain in the butt. With the SH unit, the can opens a bit more slowly and a lot more smoothly than this unit, stays open a bit longer and does a great job of sensing if we're still in range, then closes slowly and smoothly. And there's no need for a separate bag ring, they designed the lid to actually cover enough of the sides that it covers the bag. What an idea. The SH is just a MUCH better design and execution. It's a lot more money, but you get what you pay for.

UPDATE: I love this trash cans so I purchase another set on Sam's Club (June), the lid of the big can stop working after two months (Aug), I been in "communication" with their customer service since August, now its October!! WHY?? they said:: PLEASE NOTE: * * *We respond to every email in the order that it is received. Please refrain from sending multiple inquiries to prevent a delayed response* * * Lovely cans but customer service is trash. ------------------------------- -------------------------------- I have had this trash can with no problem for three years. The big one in the kitchen is the star of the kitchen working many times a day in a house with 3 kids. I came here to buy another one because I destroyed the sensor by mistake... (I used acetone on my nails, and then I had the "brilliant" idea of wiping the sensor with the cotton wet of acetone. The letters disappeared, and the plastic got thin.) After that, that part broke and got wet inside of the sensor, which is not working anymore. The little one in the bathroom is still pretty and working like a charm ✨️

Puede que Ninestars no sea popular y si que desconfíe en la marca, PERO puedo garantizarles que es un GRAN producto, su composición de aluminio en el cuerpo del bote incluyendo la tapa da una elegancia y estética al producto, la funcionalidad de apertura es inmediata al pasar la mano sin tocarlo, lo que permite limpieza. El deposito de la basura es amplio y la tapa también, tiene un mecanismo de apagado para cambiar la bolsa, se quita la tapa completamente y la bolsa se guarda con una pieza que quedó alrededor para que quede oculta NOTA: la descripción dice que usa pilas c y d, MENTIRA! los dos usan 3 y 2 pilas c/u tipo "C" atención con eso. CONTENIDO: 2 Botes Grande 67.56 cm alto Chico 29.21 cm alto CONCLUSION: Quede muy satisfecho, lo recomiendo y compraría de nuevo

Fonctionne très bien, le couvercle ouvre très rapidement et reste ouvert tant que vous êtes en mouvement au dessus. Deux bonnes grandeurs une pour la cuisine et l’autre pour le bureau ou la salle de bain. Fabriqué en inox de bonne qualité fonctionnent avec de gosses batterie DD. Je vous les recommande car c’est un produit qui a une bonne durée de vie du à c’est composantes haut de gamme.

Great product! Easily opening with one touch option!

Its fine, the cans themselves are great. But the sensor is glitchy, only opens half way sometimes, doesn't close all the way either. Batteries were fully charged just not really worth the price for a sensor and lid that don't work as advertised. I woukd like to throw it out completely, but I'm not ready to spend more with no guarantee the next one will be any better Update* I contacted customer support at NINESTARS and they are shipping me a new lid, theres a 2 year warranty so I give 5 stars for the customer support experience and would recommend making the purchase.
