A good book for poor sleepers
This author gives better interviews than written essays. Nevertheless, his book serves as a love song to late night walking, hopefully in fog or light snow. Best get this book in eformat as the word choice can be arcane and you might need help from Google to understand it all.

Not much about walking in the book
As an avid walker, I was taken in by the title but the book is more literary criticism and analysis. There is very little about walking in urban areas. Halfway through and I don't believe I can finish the book. I kept hoping it would get better but it doesn't.

The Walker
The Walker by Matthew Beaumont is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in early November.Philosophical and observational thoughts on urban walking that's written in the style of a thesis where Beaumont references classic art and literature. I'm not entirely sure what kind of reader that this is meant to draw, but it's definitely not me.

Pretentious
Forewarned by the introduction, I glanced at the beginnings of a few chapters—ivory tower analysis and vocabulary building exercise.
