Removes metals as described. Wish was cheaper though.

We have hard, acidic water. The acid neutralizer makes is harder. This filter seems to minimize the white residue on our black counter top. So far, so good.

I have a 3 stage whole house system for my well water with a stand alone iron filter and water softnener. I replaced the iron filter (within the 3 stage system) with this filter and it immediately fixed my problem. It's been about a week and my water is crystal clear.

We have had this filter installed now for 2-1/2 years, we swap it out every 12 months. It filters our well water, which has a bit of calcium. Our calcium hardness measures about 80 on the test strip and our fixtures were turning white with scale after 7 years without a filter, now for the past 2-1/2 years our scale has been a lot less to the point of not having to scrub everything with vinegar several times per year. I am glad I found this solution. We tried the electric wire wrapped on the pipes (did nothing) normal filters (did nothing) so this is a great item.

We have a septic tank but we have a water utility. I didn't say municipal or city water as we live out in the county not in a city or town. Our water was quite hard and left a white scum on everything. I realized it was also affecting our residential plumbing as well as our appliances. I bought and installed a 2-filter whole house water filtration system. After many months of use it was time to replace the two filter cartridges. This was easily accomplished and we are now good for another year or so...

The first few of these I purchased were good, and I opened them up after they served for a year. I got cake of used KDF85 out of the bottom just to measure it. However, the last several I have opened up seem to have a lot less kdf-85 material and it is mixed in with the GAC material. I think the quality on these filters has gone down significantly but I'm doing to take a few more apart soon to verify.
