Does exactly as advertised. Wanted to paint the trim around my kitchen window. The original paint was very glossy, so I wanted to take off the shine so the new paint would adhere. It is very easy to use. Odor is tolerable but we kept the windows open. Dries in about 10 minutes and then you can paint.

I used this product before painting my cheap mobile home cabinets. The paint adhered properly with little other prep needed. I did have to seal the rough particle board where the plastic woodgrain had worn off.

Worked ok. Too much trouble to use.

Way better than TSP products. With TSP the wood bleeds through and turns while paint yellow, with Gloss Off it cleans the surface and really gets rid of a lot of stain left on the surface as well as the top coats so when you’re ready to paint it’s all “matte” and a great surface for paint adhesion. I wish there was more because you need the rag really saturated so if you have a big project you’ll need at least 2.5 of these or more. I used mine for wooden baseboards, window trims, and more so I used 2 total. Maybe I was using too much? But I loved this stuff.

I mixed this in a spray bottle and used it to take the gloss coat off my kitchen cabinets so I could paint them. It worked way better than I thought it would. I used gloves and a clean white towel/rag and sprayed it on and wiped my cabinets. Great stuff! It also took all the grime off my cabinets that were above my stove!
