Great Fitting Shoes, If a Little Odd Looking
Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to find shoes that fit? Not just fit as in they get the job done, but really fit? And once you do find a pair with the Perfect Fit, you're just so happy? That's these shoes.Let's get this out of the way: yes, they are ugly. Two types of people seem to wear these shoes: paleo/vegan/crossfitters, and me (which creates interesting conversations, since I am most assuredly not in that category). People are quick to point out that they look weird because they're toe shoes. So if appearances are important to you, and you aren't a paleo/vegan/crossfitter, I don't recommend these. But, for the rest of us, these shoes are incredible. They take a couple days to form to your foot, and they will be very tight in that time, but once they do they're almost slippers with excellent tread on them (despite how they look, even putting them on gets to be as easy as slippers). They are also very easy to clean, but for the love of all that is holy, do NOT put these in the dryer. Or let them near your teething puppy, even on accident. Puppies love these things. The laces are these cool little pull laces that snap to the shoe near the toes, so there's no actual tying involved, and I've yet to have any problem with them coming undone. The tread is just the same as a very thin hiking boot tread (these are meant for trail running), so you get all the traction with the ability to feel the ground beneath your feet. Plus, you can wiggle your toes when you're bored and forgot to charge your phone. They take some getting used to and look weird, but I most definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for a new pair of shoes and struggles with finding something that fits just right.

Too Short, Very Difficult to Get On
I have worn Vibram's Five-fingered shoes 97% of the time for the past seven years. I wear a size 41. However, size 41 in THIS particular pair doesn't fit well--they are too short and tight in the toes, particularly the big toe. The shoes are designed with a stronger slant on the end of the big toe. While that makes them cuter, in a way, I think it contributes to the toe feeling too short. In addition, they are VERY hard to get on compared to most of my other Vibrams. This may also be a function of the size running a little small. I have to pull very hard on the heel strap while working to keep the shoe open enough to get my foot into it. I probably should have returned them--I did consider it, but the next size up did not have my preferred color, so I decided to wear them in hopes of stretching them out somewhat. While they are okay for a few hours once I have them on, they aren't stretching much, if at all, so they begin to hurt after awhile. Hence, I would recommend that you order one size up and not try to get by.

Great Shoe But It Runs Small
The Vibram Women's Trek Ascent LR shoes look great and are comfortable to wear, but they do run smaller than my other Vibram shoes. I normally wear a size 41 women's in Vibram shoes, but I had to return the 41's for a size 42 in this particular shoe. After getting the correct size for my feet, these are very comfortable. These shoes have sturdy soles that are perfect for hiking in rough terrain. I got the green color, and it looks nice and is a good color to hide trail dust. The fact that Vibram's have a lightweight sole makes them great for being able to feel the ground as I walk. The separate toes help to keep my toes separated and so help relieve pain from the bunion I have on one foot and the hammer toes I have on both feet. I walk with a limp from Multiple Sclerosis, and I also have poor balance. These shoes give me more stability and make my walking easier because of the zero drop in the soles and the separate toes and the lightweight soles. I recommend these shoes for anyone who has a walking disability. You do need to slowly acclimate your feet to wearing minimalist shoes, but once you have become accustomed to the shoe, you may find your walking is more natural.

Something wrong in manufacturing?
I have worn Vibram Shoes for years . Never had a problem. I love my toe shoes. The shoes came I loosened the laces and after 10 min of trying to force my foot into a very small opening I finally got the shoe on. The length was right, The fit once it was great a little snug . I gave up and didn't try the other shoe!! I didn't really want to spend 10 min every putting on my shoes.

Happy with the next size up
I am new to Vibram Five Fingers style and yet these are the second pair for me in as many weeks because while I love my first pair they are really more for inside and are not as slip resistant on wet rocks going downhill in the woods. I am normally a 36 and originally bought that size. It was only after ordering that I saw on the Vibram website that they suggest going up a size in this style. The smaller size arrived and I struggled mightily and barely managed after minutes on each foot to get them on, but the toe length was not long enough and my arthritic hips make the struggle not fun. So I sent them back and ordered 37s and I am glad I did. I can get the heel to slide on without a lot of grief and I don't think they will stretch out too much in the wearing. It was raining outside when I put them on so I tested them up the hill in the woods and hit every smooth wet rock and found the grip to be good and the sole to still have good feel of the ground. For thirty-five years I have had a fourth toe that I broke and strapped to the one next causing it to heal in a bent position, slightly under its neigbour, so I am finding the individual toe pockets to feel fabulous. For me this is better than barefoot.

love it but it has to be four stars.
I wear this pair of vibrams for weightlifting and jump roping, and they help build more muscles than regular shoes do. In addition, it is so much better than older version of vibrams that cause so much pain to break in and get used to it forcefully. I also wore it to the appalachian trail without break in, so I have no problem with it. Four stars for overall experience with vibrams.
