Enabled a 120/240 portable lamp to plug into my 240 Volt bandsaw outlet
I have a bandsaw that operates on a 240 volt circuit and wanted to add an LED lamp. The bandsaw has a 240 Volt outlet on the column, but the LED lamp I bought had a regular 120 volt plug. The lamp was rated for 120/240 Volt use, so I just needed this adaptor to make everything work. It is obviously a simple device, but it seems solidly build and fit with just the right amount of tightness into the 240 V outlet and my lamp plugged into it with a nice snug fit.

Doesn't Convert to 120v
Doesn't change 240v to 120v!!!! Still 220v but in a 110v plug, you'll damage whatever you plug into it. Luckily I checked it with a multimeter before I plugged anything into it!

Careful
Be mindful of what you do with this thing. This adapter I purchased so that in an extreme situation I can temporarily use a heavy duty extension cord that is terminated for 120V for a 240V connection. Verify the cord is rated for more than 240V and rated for the circuit your attached to and for the current (Amps) of your application. Mind what you do at the other end of the cord!
