Police Detective Ed Cullen is running hot and heavy with his clandestine lover, socialite Lois Frazer. Their passion is interrupted when her estranged husband enters the house through a balcony door and Lois "accidentally" shoots him twice at close range. Unwilling to put their affair on hold, Ed begins to orchestrate an elaborate cover-up. Lee J. Cobb created the iconic roles of Willy Loman in Arthur Miller's Death Of A Salesman (1949), and Johnny Friendly, mob boss in the 1954 Academy Award- winning classic, On The Waterfront. Jane Wyatt gained fame playing Ronald Coleman's paramour in the 1937 masterpiece, Lost Horizon but is best known today for her role as Margaret Anderson, the mother on the 1950s TV series, "Father Knows Best," for which she won three Emmys.

Good movie
Great 1950s movie set in San Francisco.

Lee J. Cobb's first movie!
An experienced police detective is sucked in by femme fatale Jane Wyatt when she kills her husband in front of Lt. Cullen. Because of his love for her especially since she is divorcing him he tries to cover the murder up. The younger brother figures it out and of course you can't forget the loyality of a femme fatale for the ending. You get a Blu ray version and a regular DVD. I marked down 1 star because the blu ray disc was defective and would freeze up. If you collect film noir you may want to add to your collection. Restoration by UCLA.

BAD QUALITY DVD!
This is not a review of the movie. It is a review of the FilmRise DVD. The quality is poor, there are audible pops, and lip sync problems. Being digitally remastered I expected a pristine copy. I recommend you buy another studio's product.

Great movie! Poor sound and quality!
Even though its a great movie don't waste your money on this. The crappy print quality and sound will ruin it for you! I wanted this for my film noir collection but returned it.
