Better than first generation Irwin Speedbore!
As I watch plenty of tool reviews, this one spade bit is one I've seen in action being tested against it's older version. It is certainly a winner against the first generation of Irwin Speedbore spade bits. The one I received doesn't have the pointy wings on the sides. Those are the first generation of Irwin's spade bits and they are good, but this one is better and it seems much more aggressive. I've tested it in my (XDT16Z) 1,600 in/lbs Makita impact on some pine 2×4's and it stopped my impact. The old spade didn't do that, it kept going. I could've used my drill for that test but haven't tried that yet. So far it's a great bit that I've added to my {first generation Irwin spade bit set (ASIN: B004UD8898)}.

I received the new version, which does not have the outer prongs that are pictured.

Clean holes
Replaced a cheap Chinese bit that never bored clean round holes. Zero run out, shaft was straight and bit was evenly cut on each side of shaft. Pricey but worth every penny.

A price is right bit, no pun.
The price is right on this bit. I use it enlarge an existing hole. Its better without the screw tip.

Item is not what is pictured it's flat no points...
False advertising item is not what is pictured there are no points on the end making it useless....
