Sturdy Metal Case for First-Aid items
I bought this (along with all the necessities to go inside) for my parents, who are getting on in years, and retired to a rural area, about 45 mins from the nearest hospital or emergency clinic; up until then, their first-aid supplies had been scattered across various drawers in various rooms, many of them dried up or expired, and I wanted them to have a centralized storage location they could quickly access in an emergency. This case fulfilled all my criteria: - solid metal case with no sharp edges - strong hinges and latches - integrated hangers for mounting it to a wall or the side of a cabinet, easy to take down when needed. The last point was particularly important to me, as they have a big house, and things without a set location tend to inevitably wander, making them impossible to find when you need them most. I installed two hooks in the kitchen pantry to mount the case to, and painted the portion normally covered by the case bright red, so as to make it very obvious something is missing when it isn't there. I believe the hangers are also suitable for attaching a carrying strap to, if you are looking for a more mobile solution. Since I've gone through many cheesy plastic first-aid boxes over the years (the kind that are bundled with a set of supplies), all of whose hinges/latches eventually failed, having solid hinges and closures was my second most important aspect, especially as I was planning on mounting it vertically to a wall - the last thing you want when running for your first-aid kit is to have it accidentally open as you are taking it from its storage location, and spilling its content everywhere. Luckily, the case was sturdily-built, and well put-together. The case is internally divided by a single metal divider running horizontally through the center, but does not come with any other components for further subdividing the space for better organization. I am not deducting any points for this, as few cases come with such parts, and when they do, they usually end up not being useable for the specific configuration you want, anyway. Better to allow the consumer to make their own choice. Lastly, one thing of note: The case, as delivered, is plain white, with no text or symbols indicating its purpose as a first-aid kit. Again, this gives more freedom to the consumer as for how to use and label it, but, if you intend to use it as a standard first-aid kit, I would strongly recommend investing in a vinyl first-aid label to apply to it; Amazon has hundreds of variations available, and they certainly help draw the eye in an emergency situation.

Nice, solid construction
I bought this to add a black Swiss cross and replicate a box I saw online. This was a great price for a very solid box.

Really nice tool box, but
I spotted this first aid box and thought it might make a good tool box. I am very pleased with this box except for one thing. The lid will not stay up. The hinge is designed to be used when the box is attached to the wall. I bought some of the foam slabs intended to be used to organize your workbench drawers. Combined with the box, I have exactly what I needed. I simply store a short stick in each box. When I need the lid to stay up, the stick works great if you stick one end between the foam and the side of the box with the other end holding the lid. The foam is called "Case Club Blue Customizable Polyethylene Foam 18 x 16 x 2 Inches" if you want to foam your box too. It is exactly the right thickness with a small gap between the foam and the lid. This box worked so well for my socket wrench set, that I bought another box. The narrower compartment holds the handles, the larger holds the attachments. The foam keeps things from getting jumbled up.

Hardy Metal First Aid Kit
It works as it was designed. The metal seems to be of decent thickness/sturdiness. I haven't tested the water proof qualities. They are slightly small for fitting things in, but they work for my needs.
