This camera works great most of the time. Sometimes it doesn’t pick up motion no matter the size. I drove my truck by it and it didn’t record but when I got back home it recorded the same spot I drove by previously. Battery life dies off fast when cold. It went from 87% down to 18% overnight on a cold snap. I bought the solar panel and haven’t had any issues with battery since. Overall I’d definitely buy another but would add a solar panel with it.

Ordered these cameras from Amazon and two sets of solar panels to keep them charged. When looking at them on their sight my biggest concern was that the battery was removable and the same as the battery in my existing Arlo cameras. Amazons ad showed the cameras being removed, so I ordered them along with the solar panels. Upon receipt of this product I quickly realized the batteries were not removable and the solar panels did not work with this particular style of Arlo cameras. That same day I repackaged them in the same box they were all shipped in and returned them them via the UPS store. Because several different items with several different bar or QRC codes were in the same box as they were shipped to me the person at the UPS store insisted on taking them all out. She applied the QRC code to the respective items and the cameras were in two boxes one with one camera and one with 4 cameras. She put both of those boxes in to the original box that they had been shipped in and applied the bar code to that box. Within hours I received credit for the items ( brackets and solar Panels) that the QRC code was applied and a few days later received a credit for the one camera that came in its (Arlo) box by itself. I did not receive a credit for the other four cameras that were in their original (Arlo) box. I contacted Amazon and they show the order/return was still pending. This was weeks ago and I still see that it is still pending. I’m beginning to think that this item may have been taken from the original Amazon box that both (Arlo) boxes were in and stolen somewhere down the line or it was misplaced by return employees and not processed properly. All I know is I returned 4 cameras and never got reimbursed for them and it has been too long. I have witnesses as to what transpired at the UPS store when they left my hands and have the UPS receipt. I don’t know what transpired after that but I have my suspicions. A little help from Amazon would be appreciated. I’m tired of waiting.

After researching home security cameras I was torn between the Blink cameras and Google. Then I ran across the Arlo cameras. After reading the reviews and going back and forth I decided to go with the Arlo cameras. I did purchase the Arlo base so I could connect the cameras directly to the base and have a flash drive for backup. This prevents me from having to subscribe to a plan. Setup was fast and easy. It did however take a couple of days to figure out how to stop tons of alerts. We have chickens and dogs and the cameras were going off like crazy. I had to contact support for help and they were great. Support gave me step by step instructions on how to disable the alerts and only get alerts that we wanted (vehicles and people). I highly recommend the Arlo Essential Spotlight Cameras, plus you’ll be saving a lot on your pocket book and still be getting that high quality security that your looking for!

As far as my Arlo cameras go, all five of them, I really like the product. They were easy to set up, they've been running flawlessly for months. And their cloud service works great. The only issue I have is that their Web portal went awry, not allowing me to adjust modes over the web (App worked fine). Then I went through 4 days of torture to get to the bottom of my problem. Why their first tier of support was not aware of an ongoing problem bewilders me. I worked with six different first tier support people on the same support ticket, answering the identical questions over and over. I'm patiently waiting for a resolution. But I have to say again, I really like the product.

Ever since I got the first one I’ve been a fan of these. The video quality is very good. You can see well on the dark even with out the light. Very easy to connect to your WiFi or a Hub.

I’ve had 4 of these cameras now. In general they are great but I have had 2 of them crap out on me for absolutely no reason. Arlo can’t explain it to me and never sent replacement but offered me a “discount” to buy their newer version. Kind of pissed me off you’d think they’d back their product and replace fault / defected ones but since I ran out of the warranty period they wouldn’t. Out of principal, I never used their coupon for a newer version but just be careful of these potentially crapping out on you.

Motion detection - 6 stars Night vision - 6 stars Tech support - 5 stars(would give a 6 but we still haven’t had any issues) The display quality is amazing(maybe too amazing?), you can clearly see the perps face while he lurks around checking your vehicles! Very easy to install and setup. The app works perfectly on your phone or tablet. You can even set dual activity zones to insure you don’t get false alerts. A must buy!
