Semiconductor Device Fundamentals 2nd Edition

the book content meets my course content in the university , the explanations are definetly clear , the solved problems help me to understand in deep manner the matterial.i will recommende it to my class mates

This book is straight-forward and good for self-studying of semiconductor devices. Does not have loads of math like other device books, so it non-electrical engineering backgrounds can understand it too.

Quality paperback copy! The hardcover is obscenely expensive even to rent, but this was reasonably priced and well worth the purchase.

Great book, could be updated in an earlier version though.

I don't have much to say about this book other than it's not so bad. What I really hate about this book is that it begins by telling you how the semiconductors work, tosses in some formulas without much derivation and just explains things conceptually until the very end - then you are flooded with equations! Maybe it's an engineer thing but I do not find this helpful at all (seeing as I'm a physicist). I'm used to books presenting equations where they are needed not flooding the last 3 sections with equations and having to go back what you read an hour ago (or yesterday) to look up what it's talking about. Some of the derivations are a bit too "hand-wavy" for me as well - which again might be a physicist thing. I also think the author is a bit dark too. For example:"For memory purposes, minority carrier diffusion into a sea of majority carriers might be likened to a small group of animals attempting to cross a piranha-infested stretch of the Amazon river...correspond to the average distance the animals advance into the river before being eaten."I could have came up with an analogy that didn't involve eating small animals or piranhas...

Good quality book for Electrical Engineers in College.
