Durable and accurate
When I opened up the package, I was initially disappointed because my old miniscale (that broke in a recent move) was much thinner and had rechargeable batteries. But I've been using this over the past few weeks and love it. It's accurate, easy to use, and solid. I've dropped it more than once and it works just the same. Plus, it's half the cost of the thinner ones. I've been happy with the purchase

Functional
Just what I needed. It fits my flair espresso 3 and with the timer is so much easier to produce consistent shots. It works great on the kitchen too

Operates as advertised
No major issues with scale or timer. Took off one star for the flimsy cover hinge. At times the cover will come out of its small hinge. This little nit would not keep me from buying it again.

Glad I Went With This Scale
I am using this scale with a Breville Barista Express to both weigh my beans and to weigh/time the espresso shot being pulled.THE SHORT: In my opinion, the only reason you should buy a more expensive scale is for aesthetic reasons or if you need more than 0.1 grams of precision (you probably don't).THE LONG: I watched a lot of YouTube videos before purchasing this scale, on others in the price range as well as those far more expensive. This scale is simple to use, accurate, and sufficiently precise for the home barista, it's a great value and I would recommend this before anything else. The green you see in the product page is a thin, silicone pad that is meant to make the surface less "slippery". I have not found that I needed it and I place my whole portafilter on this to weigh my beans before grinding. So I just threw it in my junk drawer, it's great for stuck jar lids. Additionally, the cover is really not needed for my purposes and gets in the way when trying to weigh/time the shot being pulled. So I just opened the cover halfway (90 degrees) and popped it off.Since the buttons are a part of the chassis, they're de-coupled from the scale function. This is great because you won't disturb the scale when you start the timer with your shot. The timer is great, really appreciate the simplicity. You press the clock button to start it, press it again to stop, and press it a third time if you need to reset/zero it.It's not waterproof, but I've not had any issue having accidentally spilled some espresso on the buttons.I'm not sure if I can really even complain about this, but the scale has difficulty weighing very light objects, meaning it struggles with weighing beans in something like a lighttight paper cup. But I now weigh my beans in the portafilter and then dump them into the grinder so it's not an issue. If there were one thing I would improve, I suppose it would be the speed. It's not really an issue until that last few tenths of grams as I approach my grind weight. I might be at 17.6 grams trying to get to 18 and I add a bean and it doesn't register the weight of the bean for 2-4 seconds. But if I add three beans, it will instantly register the increase in weight.Overall, this is just a great value and I highly recommend this scale.

Great scale!
I use this to dial in my espresso. It provides great accuracy with regards to the scale. I set my portafilter on too using the cover of the scale. Initially I thought the scale would be off kilter but it is very sturdy. Timer is also a great addition to figure out how long your espresso machine takes to brew a shot. Very easy to use and stores away nicely!

Good, accurate scale with timer - terrible display for espresso shots - 6 month update
Purchased: Sep 3, 2022.This review update: March 9, 2022.I threw this scale away just shy of its 6 month birthday because it's no longer working as an espresso scale. While making espresso, your scale is going to get wet and it appears that after getting wet a few times the scale does not work as well as it used to. Batteries are not the issue; the issue is the lack of durability despite being tasked with performing its primary function, which is to measure and time espresso shots. It did survive a little water and/or coffee getting into its circuitry, even though there's no avoiding getting a coffee scale a little wet. After less than 5 months of use, the scale would glitch and reset to zero in the middle of weighing beans or weighing and timing espresso shots. The scale has literally one job and it can't do it properly or reliably, so it's useless. Stay away from this scale. I replaced this scale with another sold on Amazon with a brand name that starts with "time".+++It works well enough for what it's supposed to do.The timer works well and seems to be accurate; I haven't tested it.The major problem I have with the scale is that it is illegible at certain angles. Viewing the scale by more than a 45 degree angle will likely be frustrating. If you're measuring beans or coffee, you won't have a problem. If you're using the scale to measure time & the amount of espresso you've pulled, it's very possible that you won't be able to read the scale. I have to stand at as much of a 90 degree angle atop the scale as possible. Not a bit deal; it's a first world problem to have, but it's super annoying.Caveat emptor.
