Soft writing, good black line, and break resistant
This soft writing and good black marking, but break resistant, lead make a .9mm pencil a whole different, upgraded instrument. I tried one of these leads in my Fisher "Thunderbirds" pencil ... and threw out all the medium leads that came with the pencil.

Best Lead Without Going To Japan
This is my favorite lead for my favorite mechanical pencils, the Twist Erase. I've been using are the 0.5 mm in 4B and more recently 0.9 mm in 2B. As you can see they write very similarly. And they erase very similarly as well. The 0.9 mm is just a lot more durable and doesn't break early, especially if you tend to write with heavy hand or speed. My middle schooler prefers the 0.9 mm as well. Can't go wrong with these pencil leads. I've been using them for ages...like literally decades.

ffavorite pencil lead
Purchased this lead because local "big box" retailwrs do NOT stock 2B lead hardness in any size. They only stock HB lead hardness. They are happy to order it for you as as "special order." Unfortunately, you have to pay for it uofront and then wait 1-2 weeks for it to arrive. This is not good when you need it NOW. I have used this brand of pencil lead for years in various sizes and know its consistant quality and superior performance. I like the quality and ease of writing this lead offers me on a wide variety of paper surfaces. 2B lead hardness offers me the ability to write on paper and erase the marks clean without damaging the paper or leaving those tell-tale dents in the paper surface. Being a musician, this is inportant sibce I can erase my marks on the paper without causing any damage to the paper. I have tried other brands of the same lead hardness from a variety of retailers but have found this brand of lead provides a darker line since it seems to be softer than other brands. The shipper shipped the product by USPS and gave ne an estinated delivery date. Imagine my surprise when the product arrived several days ahead of schedule. This was good since I was able to load my expensive mechanical pencils and begib writing with them with my favorite brand of lead.

Perfect Lead for my SumoGrip Pencil
I use this lead in my SumoGrip pencil. It is perfect as the larger size does not break and I am heavy handed when I write.

Very nice for my Mont Blanc pen.
It works very well with my Mont Blanc pen, and costs a lot less than what an original Mont Blanc lead refill would cost. Bravo.

Like Butter.
Absolutely love the 2B. If you have been using the standard HB that every retailer carries you are missing out! Broad Scope: The hardness of the lead goes hand-and-hand with the thickness. Soft lead (2B, 4B, etc) will break more easily with a 0.3 or 0.5 mm pencil so you might need a thicker lead depending on how hard you write. I used to use a 0.5 HB and as my writing progressed I have noticed that you can simply read your writing more easily with a 0.9 2B although I still use my 0.5 for drafting. I got to try the 0.9 HB that came with my pencil and just like all the other HB lead it felt very hard and not very smooth. Specific to This Product: After buying this box of lead, I now have a lifetime worth of 2B lead... Like an insane amount. (does anybody want some of mine? lol. but seriously. don't message me.) I do have to 'click' out way more lead than when I was using HB but it is totally worth it. With HB I don't recall ever needing to 'click' more lead, while using this lead I have to do it every few sentences. Maybe I am exaggerating a bit but this is how I feel. I have not needed to reload more lead pieces yet so I guess that's a good sign. Silky smooth writing and very dark readable text... I cannot ask for more from this lead. I have not tried anything softer than 2B but I believe this is a nice starting point for somebody wanting a softer lead than HB. I must say with the 0.9, it has very thick lines. do not buy this lead and plan on drafting with it or any type of detailed work. I use it only for writing and love it for only that purpose.

Nice Box of 0.9 MM Refill Leads
Nice! A compact, easily storable, box of 12 tubes of thick 0.9 mm lead with 15 pieces per tube, as pictured and described. As I do a lot of writing, I keep HB, B, and 2B refill leads, all 3 types -- and use only 0.9 mm lead, the sturdiest and least likely to break. The most popular standard for writing, as well as school and mechanical pencils is HB, the hardest of the 3 but which shows on computer-read exams and the like. The HB pencil also makes the lightest writing. The next softer grade that writes a little darker is the B grade. The softest and darkest lead is the 2B. The softer the lead the more quickly it gets used up, so the 2B gets used up the fastest. As they write darker, the softer leads, B and 2B, require more eraser, 2B requiring the most. That may be a consideration depending on your mechanical pencil type. Most everyday mechanical pencils sold today, such as the Bic Velocity, do not have replaceable erasers.

Best lead for mechanical pencils
I have always preferred the .9mm leads to other sizes. This 2B lead is softer and very bold on paper. Though standardized test centers wont let you use it for the bubble in scantron exams (I will never know why), they do work for that. I am always doing calculations for work and it's faster to do them on paper than using my computer for the more complex equations. These leads are an engineer's best friend on the scratch pad and for drafting. There are no office supply stores that carry these 2B leads so I order them in bulk from Amazon. My sons (both math people) use them too. These are great for the twist advance style of mechanical pencil and even with all the math homework my sons have to do for calculus and trig, the leads last a long time. I highly recommend these!

I bought two boxes of 0.9mm refill leads when it on sale on Amazon. Each box had 12 tubes with 15 leads on each tube as shown on the description. The quality of the leads are excellent at 2B softness and darkness. Non lead is broken on any tube. I use a lot of refill lead for my work. These 0.9 mm leads are my favorite leads due to the darkness and durability of the lead. I am happy with the leads.
