Must read for procrastinators

This is life changing. I stumbled across "Art of Persistence" on Amazon while searching for "art" books. It looked interesting, so I bought it.I've read self-improvement books from time to time and even worked for a seminar company for 8 years. This is honestly the first book I've read that has changed my attitude about so many things. It's incredible. It includes very simple suggestions to follow. Simple = eventual completion.Very grateful to have found this book!

Profound book to get you the results you want!

There are many motivational books that try to motivate the reader by sharing stories of other people overcoming obstacles to achieve success. There are also many books that tell you, to simply try harder or focus more on your goals, in order to achieve them. I think this book is unique because it actually shows you how to think and apply the right principles to your own life. The author has an incredible way, of explaining things very clearly so that it has a profound impact on the reader. You can quickly think for yourself what needs to be done in any area of your life and for you to take action in doing it! In other words the author is not giving you a rah rah speech, but actually teaching you how to think and apply, so that you can get terrific results you are wanting in your life! Yes you will feel motivated, but even on the days you don't feel great, you still will want to do the things you decided you should do, instead of making excuses or feeling guilty. Simply put you will take action regardless of any mental or outside distractions, so that you can enjoy the results.

A great book for getting going and getting stuff done!

This was a wonderful book. I had not read the author before, but he was suggested by another blog. I couldn't have been more happy with my purchase! The book was well thought-out and well-written. It did a great job of providing concrete steps to becoming more consistent in your daily life.It was written often from a Christian perspective, and if you are a Christian (which I am not) you will probably connect even more with "The Art of Persistence". That component of the book was not evangelical but informative. It didn't take away from the book if you are a non-Christian.If you have any trouble staying committed to something, being focused and wanting to accomplish whatever it is you want to accomplish, this book is for you. It also introduced me to a free website (Coach.me) that I would have paid for so the price of this book is really low for what you are getting! Thanks Michal Stawicki!

Every Other Page Bookmarked

The Art of Persistence changed some of my views and strengthened others about this key skill: being consistent in habits that are good for me and others.Michal Stawicki's transparent sharing of his own challenges and successes in developing positive habits have given me encouragement and confronted me with truths hard to ignore.Especially helpful to me was the concept of doing a "tiny habit" not for the benefit of the habit itself... but rather to develop the consistency so the habit may later be expanded. For example, one pushup per day is NOT going to drastically impact your health. BUT, doing one pushup doggedly each day WILL develop the habit of consistency. And it's just plain natural that we will expand the one pushup to ten, then twenty and so on.I'm using the advice in the Art of Persistence to change not only my results but my approach. By defining success as, "Did you do the planned activity or not?" it's simple to be successful! And success is by itself a habit. The only complaint I have, if you could call it one, is that going back through the book I notice I have bookmarked nearly five pages out of every ten. The book is short but packed pretty full of usable advice and action items.

Great Basics for Starting Anything

If you're like me, you have a TON of goals, projects, ambitions and ideas. The hard thing when you're creative and expansive, is to make real, tangible progress. While this book is personal, basic and simplistic, it is also intimate, direct and pointed. Basically, you can do anything, absolutely anything, if you start small and remain consistent. This is one area I really need discipline and dedication, so I enjoyed the author's perspective and advice. He's very much an, "if I can, you can."I would call it a self-development primer. What most people who are trying to improve their life fail to realize, is that it is in the 5-min a day, everyday, consistency where your ambitions and goals are won and lost. This is a concept which I am very familiar from both Psychology and yoga, but really it takes to grit to dedicate oneself. Recommended for anyone struggling with self-discipline and focus.

less chance of disappointment. I'm not 100% consistent

Persistence, is not a subject that sparks excitement in my mind, but for me I needed to develop it so this is why I bought it.It is a no frills account of the personal journey of Michal to acquire this skill. Nothing to remarkable, but for me it was down to earth and thus more believable and relevant to my position in life. I will start with his small steps and work up from there, less chance of disappointment.I'm not 100% consistent, but this in tandem with a course I bought Stefan Pylarinos'( "Morning mastery ritual" ) and Mark Starr's ("Power in half an hour") podcast (episode 69) (no has certainly boosted my persistence considerably. For me it was worth the time and money to buy this book, I hope this review helps you in some way.

No promises of miracles - thankfully

I like this book. I've read a number of self-help/improvement books that I've become rather inured to their message, but this one does not bombard you with too much advice, it sticks to a simple message that anyone can adopt; specifically pick something you want to improve, decide what to do, when you will do it and track your persistence. In addition, start small. The attraction is that this is a path everyone can follow. It also reinforces the importance of a personal mission statement and changing your self-talk to a positive message; not to file away in a draw, but to read once or, ideally, several times a day.Michal is honest throughout. He's not promising miracles, but is convinced that following his recommendation there will be a change for the better, if the reader sticks to the task.

Healthy reading.

Well written; a book I turn to when I'm not feeling that motivated but need to up the ante. You can feel the honesty in his writing. There is something truly great about this book. And it's at a great price.

Pretty pointless book

In summary move to a richer country than your own, so you make comparatively more money
