Almost four years (now is July 2024) and I can add this. The original bulb is still on. Do not install it so that the bulb turns on and off. On & off shortens the bulb life. Bought this and installed it in September-Ovtober 2020. The original build is still working. Installed right above the A Frame Evap Coil. I installed it "bulb always on". Of course if you have the bulb off and on it will not last as long. From Installed in October 2020 and as of 2024 still shining.

For more than a year we have been plagued by what I called a dust or dirt smell (apparently this is the dirty socks smell) when the heat pump heater came on and especially when the emergency/auxiliary heat came on. I talked to the AC tech about it when he did the semi-annual service. His response was that everything was clean. Interestingly he did not offer to install a UVC system. I would have been a customer. It got so bad that we were reluctant to turn the on heat without leaving the house for a couple of hours. Also, I believe I was having an allergic reaction to the dust/bacteria as I felt tingling in my lips during heating season. I had considered installing a UVC, but talking about it to someone I thought should know said they didn't work. I finally bit the bullet and ordered this Pureuv UVC figuring I had little to lose since it was pretty inexpensive. I installed on New Years Day (after overcoming my intimidation of wires in the heat pump enclosure). Easy peasy install especially with the magnetic holder. WOW!! It has cleared up all of the smells and no more tingling lips. It took a little over a week to completely clear things out. I waited for the heat pump to go through a few AC/heat/auxiliary cycles to satisfy myself it works. In Central Fl that has taken 3 weeks. I am totally satisfied with the Pureuv UVC. Very grateful I found this and wish it had been sooner.

I had to drill a hole to install mine not any fault of the product. The air handler made it impossible to do it any other way. Will repost after a year has past see how clean my coil is.

I have been interested in these for over a year and finally decided to install it. I purchased two and installed one above the coils and one in between. Installation was not terrible and depends on how your system was installed. I'd recommend if installing two like I did buy at least one 240/24/75VA transformer (even with one light, I'd recommend upgrading the transformer). Upon initial install, there is a light smell that came off, but it went away after a few minutes. I couldn't smell it throughout the house, just in the furnace room. It's been 3 weeks since installed and the air fresh. when you take a deep breath in, you can certainly feel the difference. I've also noticed there's less humidity on my windows and definitely less odors. My sinus issues have reduced and I'm sneezing less when inside the home. One final thought is that i bought these for $70 and saw that they are now $100+ no doubt due the virus situation, so something to consider.

Installing was pretty simple. A separately needed/bought transformer is required: 120/208/240 VAC to 24 VAC. 40 VA. After installing the transformer the installation of the light was pretty straight forward. The light fixture has a nice magnet allowing attachment to the inside wall of the airhandler. Attaching the bulb to the fixture must be taken with care so as to not break the light Tube. I advise using thin plastic gloves so not to leave hand oil fingerprints on tube. Works well. DO NOT LOOK DIRECT AT THE LIGHT BULB, as doing so can damage your eyes. A warning Sticker is provides to attach to the outside Airhandler front door

My old UV light ballast broke for some reason so I wanted to replace it with a similar product, and this one fit the bill. Excellent price for a great product! I was able to install it in less than 15 minutes using the transformer that my old UV light was wired into. As for the box, I'm not sure if this is actually made in the USA. The box claims something along the lines of designed and "assemblied" (misspelled) in the USA, and says lifetime warranty except for the "lapms" (also mispelled). I suppose thats what you get for the cheapest UV light you can find though. Hoping it lasts as long as my old TopTech light. These things do an excellent job at keeping the inside of your air handler clean and mold free, a must in humid Florida where you run your AC nearly year round!

We paid to have this Reko unit professionally installed in 2021 by our HVAC company. Had the same HVAC company replace the bulb Feb. 2022, well before the advertised 1-year lifespan of the bulb. In the first week of August 2022 (less than 6 months) we smelled mold type odors in our house. The same HVAC company came today (Aug 9th) and proved to me that the ballast and light were both shot. Additionally, the HVAC Technician stated the system was full of black mold and scraped a handful of it to show me. I called and spoke with the company, REKO, and he hung up with me when I complained about the poor product quality. I have paid high labor costs and now face heavy additional costs to have the entire HVAC and Ductwork cleaned and Sanitized, plus install a Quality UVC system! Very upset that Amazon would permit low-quality products to be sold that have an impact on their customers health and safety.

The installation was easy and the looking glass is a nice touch to ensure your light is working. I've noticed people were concerned about the packaging. The packaging is ok b/c the bulb is protected. well. However, the bulb does slide around a bit in the box and the company probably should address that. The only problem I had is my bulb was dim and orange in color when I first turned on the HVAC system. I had to flip the breaker several times and it finally lit up blue. I'm not sure what the root cause for that could be. I did order a replacement though and I'm going to try and replace my transformer as well. Other than that, love the fact it is killing crap on the coils and other things like viruses when stuff like that passes by it. I also have the AirOasis Air Purifier and the AprilAire filtration system installed in my HVAC system as well. The air smells very clean coming out of the vents!
