This product works and is easy to use.
Purchase the big bag, because it will fill fast. I am buying 2 bags at a time. We live in a residential area. I purchased this to be able to enjoy our backyard. Despite our care at picking up dog waste and any other organic debris, flies and mosquitoes are a constant nuisance. I put this in the back far corner of my yard away from sitting areas because of reviews suggestive of smell and the instructions of the product. My SO taunted me that it wasn’t working. Within 24 hours flies were inside the bag, within 48 hours, flies are fighting to get in the bag, within 72 hours, no flies in the sitting areas of the patio, even if I am eating food. There is no detectable aroma from the product except with mild wind. Combined with the Knight Spartan mosquito attractant, I can sit outside for morning coffee and in the evening for the nightcap without being buzzed to insanity or consumed to death. This fly attractant (as the mosquito one) are economical and they work. Both are made in the USA. This product works, use it according to the very clear, easy to follow instructions. When disposing these bags DO NOT DROP OR SPILL! As other reviewers have said the smell is horrendous and does not wash off easily. I dropped my first bag and the bottom broke on the grass. Every fly in the world arrived! Even washing it down with water and soap did not abate the smell. I now double trash bag it where it is hanging and then carefully place it in the bags, tying off the top of both bags. I wait until trash pick up days to place in the garbage can.

Wow, does it ever work!
It came in at like 11, and had it hung by early afternoon. Not 2 hours later I saw the first couple of flies bite the dust...and that was just the prelude. Now 5 days later there is a dark line along the bottom of the bag that is just the pile of dead flies. I actually wish I could post a video of all the flies currently flying around inside the trap. It is absolutely the most bizarre thing I have ever seen...I have to reiterate how bad it smells. My dogs walk by and stick their noses in the air trying to figure out where the stench is coming from. The difference is amazing. We had guests over for Labor Day and I didn’t see a single fly (outside the trap). It makes me look forward to next spring to put one out and keep them down all summer long. It has even recuse the horse and deer flies though I haven’t officially seen a deer fly in the trap, I have seen a couple of horse flies. Do yourself a favor and just buy it. As for hanging it, I have found a wire coat hangar to be very useful. The first picture shows the “line of death” at the bottom. The second shows flies inside the trap. Edit: 2 months later and I have declared it dead after a cold snap. I added a third picture, it shows that the trap is full of dead flies. I have truly never seen anything work this effectively. I have already ordered and received a second trap so that when it warms next spring I can be there to get a jump on the flies! We live on several acres and our neighbor reported less flies as well - including the deer fly that harassed them on the way to their cars each morning. This is a truly awesome item.

Best fly trap ever.
This might be the best fly trap in the world. I used to get the reusable ones but honestly, they’re such a pain in the butt to clean that I decided to switch to the disposable one. Within the first hour, it had already attracted hundreds of flies. Two weeks later it is still working fantastically. It is so big there have got to be thousands of flies at this point. It stormed the last couple of days and as you can see from the picture, no additional water has gotten into the bag and flies are still swarming it. I have about 15 yards from my trashcan and back door. This is the best thing ever, and I will continue to order them in the summer months. Literally, my only warning and this should be common sense, but it does stink, so don’t put it too close to your patio area or anywhere where you’re going to be spending time

WORKS WELL BUT STINKY
I gave this 4 stars - I'd give a 5 if it didn't stink so bad if its located too close to where you sit outside. Don't even THINK about using this inside as the smell would definitely be a problem. This product appears to be very active which is great, it seems I have far fewer flies on my patio where we sit outside, so fewer to try to get into the house too where they are REALLY ANNOYING and very dirty things too. I do not like the idea of them landing anywhere in my house especially on food/fruit and so forth. While some people just ignore them as being part of summer, I guess I have a "thing" about them and the sicknesses they can carry and transmit. Anyway, also, while it is a good thing to find the times I've had occasion to see whether its working or not that indeed it is. But its REALLY GROSS to look at. My dislike/loathing of flies wins out but actually I feel rather sorry for them getting trapped in there even though they never feel sorry for me when they are pests and sometimes even bite. But I do realize that none of us chose to be what we are. Dogs don't choose to be dogs, flies don't choose to be flies. Theoretically true but ultimately ewww[...] So back to the effectiveness review. Works good and there are lots of them in there. I read the previous reviews and heeded the warnings about hanging it a distance away because of the odor. However I guess I did not place it far enough away as sometimes when its pretty hot weather or the winds in the right/wrong direction I can definitely smell it and its a pungent smell that kind of gets in my throat. So I had 2 of them hanging close together and both working (enough flies for 2) but I moved one of them a little farther away. I really didn't want to have to deal with moving it because of the ich factor but the way I hung one it was fairly easy to do. The other one is fastened in such a way as to make it more difficult to move and for that reason I have left it stay where it was. If I get up the willpower I will move it too but even moving one has improved the smell situation but not totally. So the product says that on hot days it will do better hanging in the shade and on cool days its better hanging in the sun. So I attached it to the frame of a lawn swing which is out but not in use currently so that I could slide it along to sun or shade but I wrapped wire around many times to be sure it was secure and now its going to take a little time to get it undone. So I recommend hanging it in such a way that it will come free for disposal and/or moving fairly quickly and easily. I now have it hanging from a branch of a tree further away. Be careful where you hang it that its not something you might accidentally bump into when mowing or gardening, standing up and forgetting its there because if it the contents came spilling out onto me if I bumped it I would totally be grossed out to have it spill onto me. (its not a concern its well designed just if you bumped into the bag w/o knowing is the only thing). I guess what I'm saying, carefully consider where to hang and how to hang securely but easily detachable as well for if you need to move it and/or dispose of it (in a trash bag sealed up afterward). You won't have to touch the actual contents to because its designed that way to avoid contact. its just ICCHY to look at. The fact that I bought another speaks to how I feel as to its effectiveness. Others mentioned the smell and I concur. I probably had it initially hanging about 35 feet away from my patio (my yard isn't all that big and the patio is in the center) and it really should have been about 15 or 20 feet further away. But it works and for that reason I am glad I found this item and purchased it as it makes it much easier to enjoy being outside when so many of the flies are "elsewhere". It's very easy to set up, no confusing directions so I do recommend very much this product.

I am very impressed! This fly trap does what it claims to do "to trap flies" Yes not all flies are trapped, but it certainly made a very noticeable difference. Btw, you don't want to see the photo of this. It's not nice :) Will buy again for sure. Oh and my husband is extremely impressed with the design of the top!

No estoy seguro si fue por donde lo puse (lo estuve moviendo buscando el mejor lugar) pero nunca atrajo más moscas que incluso un plato limpio…. Las que se acercaron si quedaron atrapadas, pero eran muy pocas las que se acercaban.

I have chickens and are always conscious about if my neighbors think I have a chicken poo issue. I tried this and within a few hours there was already 1cm of dead flies floating in the top. Yes this thing stinks, so don't hang it close to your house.
