Elegant, Robust and High quality
These nikon monarch 5 bins were purchased after I had been bird watching in the lake district. I witnessed a peregrine falcon but wasn't able to get up close to it on the 8x25 so opted for the 8x42. NIKON is a well embedded brand and has been around for many years combined with the other brilliant reviews online and on amazon. The weight is just under 630g and admittedly still feels very light, retaining that ease for carrying on camping, hiking or days out whatever you want to view. The clarity is impeccable and really does bring out those excellent colours with the HD built in. I'd say these are very ergonomic to hold and have that real robustness to them, not to mention they have a 10 year warranty giving you peace of mind. The lens caps are high quality and provide great protection when not in use. My only con with these binoculars is the strap that comes with them could be better quality as it rubs your neck a bit. When comparing to other brands such as swarovski and hawke they really do hold up and are great value for money. I'd recommend these monarchs to anyone even if your a beginner, intermediate or seasoned pro they are allrounded.

Fantastic
Ok, I have to admit that this one is my very first pair of binoculars. So I thought I treat myself to a good pair. Its amazing really. The 8x42 is a fantastic start out kit into the world of binoculars. The vision is crystal clear and especially in low light conditions it works very well. The Monarch M5 is still light enough to throw into the backpack or hand it around your neck. I will definitely got for the Monarch M5 10x42 as well. I am well impressed and can highly recommend this pair of binoculars

Great Optics at the price point
I tried lots of bins up and down the price range, some significantly more expensive, but these are fine for my needs. I am a photographer with a love of nature as opposed to an out and out birder, so I needed something decent but didn't need the best. As you go up the price range there is a law of diminishing returns for your ££s. These M5s seem to be perfect for me. Nice wide field of view, clear good quality optics. I'm very pleased.

Flexible, small, handy pair for wildlife viewing
Used these on our trip to the Antarctic. Were excellent with my iPhone for viewing and capturing wildlife (seals, whales, penguins) and panoramic landscapes

High quality imaging
These are nice and light and give very good quality, bright and sharp images. They are widely regarded as giving the best bang for the buck in the Nikon Monarch range, the M7 ‘s and HG’s will give even better quality (and slightly more weight) but the price increase does not match the image quality increase with each step up with image quality increasing by 10-15% while price increases by 60% and up each time.

Great optics
Really impressed but I wished on reflection I’d gone for the 12x mag. The quality is as expected (superb) but a slightly bigger mag might have been better.

I'm glad we bought these after tinkering with some lighter and cheaper opera-only binoculars. We took the nikkon monarch to our trip to Namibia and it made the whole difference when looking at wildlife.

Optica bastante boa, associada a pouco peso.
