Bought a few various bars recently just out of curiosity. Sure most are just for novelty unless you're talking about pure gold, silver, platinum or palladium, but they're pretty cool to have. Interesting to compare density and size of various metals, plus the different lusters and melting info built into the design molds. When the dollar crashes you might have a few bucks if you can find someone to trade with, otherwise it's off to the recycler and smelter. These aluminum bars are really thick compared to other metals, a bit of a dull shine but I bet you could get it glossy if you're willing to seriously polish it up. Good stuff.

Kind of expensive but looks good

I’m still not sure what possessed me to buy a one pound block of aluminum. It arrived quickly and in good condition and has sat on a shelf since then. I may try to polish it soon.
