“Catbird?” is about Tuffy, a little tiger kitten that envied birds because they could fly. In the end Tuffy finds that being a kitten is pretty nice after all. Not only will Tuffy amuse children, Tuffy is a kitten they will be able to identify with. Through his “dream adventure” they will understand that trying to be something they’re not carries other consequences that may not be pleasant. It helps them learn to appreciate their own life. As a bonus, illustrations in this book will make several common species of birds familiar to children.
