We are using this sling for my husband to help lift me up and out of my chair. I don’t know how we would manage as easily without this sling. It’s wide enough where nothing cuts into you when it is being used and pulled. I have 2. One in the house, and one in the car should we be out and need it. I definitely recommend it.

The belt transfer slings are just as described and help a person stand up depending on the caregiver capabilities. The slings can also be used to help the patient roll over so that (for example) a full body sling can gradually be placed under them by rolling the person first to one side and then to the other. A Hoyer lift would then typically be needed to raise the person off the bed or floor if they have fallen and are unhurt by the fall. So if the manual lift belt sling does not work, consider buying a Hoyer lift such as the Invacare Hoyer lifts found on Amazon.com

Purchased this to care for my mom. Its softer then a gate belt for lifting. It is useful on the days she is having trouble. Its made of good quality material.

My 92 year old mom lives with me and is having more difficulty with mobility. I'm not in the best shape, either, and have gotten hurt a couple of times trying to help her up. This is perfect. Easy on both of us. (The worst thing you can do when helping someone up is pull on their arm, you can literally pull it right out of the socket. This is much safer)

Its a handy item to use to get the patient from one station to another such as from the wheel chair to standing position; It is also beneficial in holding the patient as he uses the walker. It makes the patient feel more secure even though the caregiver is only holding the lift strap around the patients body. I purchased one for home use and one to stay in the car. It works fine. However the manufacture needs to study the design and see if they can add something such as velcro to keep the strap on the patient's body. Example if the caregiver is assisting the patient using the bathroom, they have to turn loose of the strap and it falls to the floor. Then if it is needed after completion of bathroom task it has to be retrieved and put around the patients body again. I try to tuck the handle of one end into a handle hole on the other end and it works fair. That way I don't have to pick the strap up and put it around the patient again to assist the patient with his walker so he can return to his lift chair. I works great to assist the patient to get out of his lift chair and get in his transport chair or to use his walker or rollator. The strap eliminates the need to pull on the patients arms. A nephew saw me using this and said I think I need to order one for Mom as it is getting so hard for her to get up from the chair and we often have to assist her. When I first ordered I though I would use it for the shower but after I arrived I realized I needed a Gait Belt instead. But I am glad I have this item available for use.

Material is "slippery" and does not stay in place. Easily slides out of place.

First of all, I'd like to say that this is a great product. Well made and seemed sturdy. I bought this to help me with moving a relative in Hospice. Sadly, she took one look at this and decided she was going to have no part of it. I believe that if she would have let me try this with her, she would have become used to it. But sadly, I had to return. I believe this would have helped me tremendously, I had to wrap my arms around her to pick her up, not an easy thing for me to do. This probably isn't the review that people want to read, but I'm giving this 5 stars because I could tell this product was well made and would have helped me tremendously.... if I had the chance to actually use it.
