Five Minutes' Peace

Everyone loves a new baby, but what about the new, excited, exhausted parents?? This charming book is perfect! The English Elephant-mama loves her brood, but would REALLY love Five Minutes Peace! So sweet & funny, our toddler adored this book and we loved reading it aloud. We just gave a copy to friends about to have #2, with a 2-year old at home.

My favorite book for my kids growing up. Now a favorite for my grandkids

I remember this book from MY childhood and “gifted” it to my husband as a reminder that flowers and chocolates are nice; but sometimes we need FIVE MINUTES PEACE.

I read this book to my children, and now I've bought for my grandson. It's a great tool to teach child about Mama's busy day and to perhaps allow her to get a few minutes peace. As in the story, that never happens...but mama still loves her babies. Lol. The illustrations are beautiful, book is easy to understand overall well written. Highly recommend

I read this book to my children and now I have ordered one for each of them as they experience the desperate need for "five minutes of peace" as they raise children of their own! Hilariously true! and so funny! I love the illustrations too. Such a cute book!

I discovered this book years ago while staying over at my aunt's house. My little cousin woke me up early and was bouncing around the room excited for me to be visiting. I grumbled, and he very seriously asked me "would you like 5 minutes peace?" I was so excited! I said "Yes!" and cuddled back under the covers.... just to have him crawl in bed next to me and hand me this book. I laughed so hard I though I was going to fall off the bed!! Now its a favorite of mine, and my cousin is giving it to my Baby (pregnant and due in June) as a "welcome to the family" gift. As an actual review of the book: Its adorable. Perfectly captures a Mom's love for her children, while simultaneously wanting to just get a few minutes alone every once and a while.

This is the best book. It’s probably a better book for mom, but my children adored it when they were young because they identified with the story, which is about the toddler age elephants always hovering around their mom and constantly needing her to play with or do things for them...hence five minutes peace. It’s sweet and funny.

We love these stories! Perfect for bedtimes - calm, humorous and with great pictures to enjoy. The illustrations have fun details and the family dynamic always gets a giggle from my daughter.

A lovely bedtime story which my children enjoyed and now hopefully my granddaughter living in Australia will also grow to love top.

Endlich habe ich das Buch gefunden, in englischer Originalfassung! Die LIeferung kam schnell und in einwandfreiem Zustand an. Bilder und Text sind ein Genuss für Jung und Alt. Das Buch ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet und zeitlos, denn auch bzw. gerade heute finden Mütter (die immer öfter berufstätig sind) nur schwerlich fünf Minuten Zeit für sich.
