can this added to heated water phase? at what temperature?

This preservative should be added on cool down side, if possible. It is good for 1 hour at 80 deg C. The key with this Linatural is the pH needs to be below 6.5. Recommended use levels and pH: 2% use at pH 6 - 6.5 1.5% use at pH 5 - 6 1% use at pH <5

Yes, it’s a thin liquid so mixes easily, and I’m pretty sure is only designed to be added to a cooled solution to be effective.

would this be good when trying to make my own setting sprays?

Because this is broad spectrum and easy to work with, it's great for a variety of different formulations. Depending on your recipe, you may need to lower the pH into the right range for it to be effective. If your recipe is within the guidelines for this product's ideal use (pH, use rate), then it should work. Always do your own testing and work in small batches.
