Worth having.
These work great. Great price and quality.

Good, affordable eye protection.
Good fit, good protection of my eyes, very affordable. The optics (diopters) seems to be a bit wimpy, but not bad - it IS, after all, plastic - but they're comfortable to wear and look pretty good, even though I'm just doing yard work and no one sees them. We only get one set of eyes.

Good but short of great.
Dark glasses that are good for outdoor work. Love the “reader” inserts that are a bit low but certainly usable. Pretty lightweight, time will tell how long they last. The included neoprene sleeve is way too tight to be helpful, should be larger.

Product is nice but not for women with big hips

These safety glasses are one of the best deals going
Cut to the Chase: These safety glasses are one of the best deals going. I highly recommend them. Background: I had cataract surgery done and as part of that had my vision corrected. I had been extremely near sighted and had worn glasses my entire life. My distance vision is now 20/20 but now I need reading glasses. I am also a shooter and firearm instructor. I went looking for a pair of sunglasses that would also double as safety glasses. I really wanted a pair where the main lens was uncorrected for normal vision while the bottom part be magnified for reading. While shooting you could use the bottom part of the lens to obtain a clear “front/rear sight picture” and with a slight tilt of the head use the top part of the lens to obtain a clear view of your target. Now for my review: Dewalt DPG59-220C Reinforcer Rx-Bifocal 2.0 Smoke Lens High Performance Protective Safety Glasses with Rubber Temples and Protective Eyeglass Sleeve. PRO: The glasses are inexpensive (approximately $10) however that is not evident in their construction, styling or performance. The glasses are very light weight, it is like you are not wearing glasses at all. The temple pieces go straight back with a slight downward curve (no issue with the temple pieces being too short to go behind the ear). The temple pieces bend inward slightly so that they “pinch” your head to hold them in place (the pressure is slight, not uncomfortable at all). There is a rubber like insert in the end of each temple piece to add comfort and aid in retention when your skin gets sweaty. There is also a rubber like nose piece that also helps prevent the glasses slipping. The lenses are some kind of plastic (not polycarbonate). The lenses wrap around the sides and the top makes contact with your forehead, both of these features are important in shooting glasses to prevent debris (empty shell cases) making it to your eye. The wrap around design does not have any distortion. The lenses are a dark smoke color and according to the information are UV protected (not polarized) and meet ANSI requirements for safety glasses. The magnified portion is molded in at the bottom of the lens, approximately 0.5” tall and 1.25” wide (about 20% of the total lens height). I initially thought the magnified portion was too small, however when wearing them it is the perfect size. Unnoticeable in regular use however there when you need the magnification. I also have higher priced shooting glasses (Wiley X) that I like a little better, however they are significantly more expensive and also do NOT have the option of being both shooting glasses and reading glasses at the same time. I like these so much that I bought a 2nd pair of the smoke lens (2.5x) and a pair of the clear lens (3.0x). I may buy more and keep a pair in the car, in the shooting bag, in the tool box, etc. At the price, why not. CON: The lenses being some kind of plastic means they are more susceptible to being scratched. The protective eyeglass sleeve provided is cumbersome to use. Since the lenses wrap around, the glasses have a deeper profile that prevent a regular eyeglass case from being used. I have not bothered with a case and just make sure I don’t lay them lens down. At the inexpensive price point it is not a big deal if you have to replace them if they do get scratched. The glasses are a “one-size-fits-most”. For me they fit perfectly, however I imagine that you might be able to heat the temple pieces until they got soft and then gently bend them in/out if they are too tight/loose for your head. I am a big guy / big head and the size of the glasses look fine on me. Smaller framed people may think the glasses look too big for their head. Tip: The name “Dewalt” is printed on each temple piece, I used a black sharpie pen to cover it over. They now just look like a nice pair of sunglasses and not safety glasses. Keep in mind that this review is worth exactly what you paid for it. Update: I have now used them practically every day for a year. I stand by my original review but I do have one nit to pick: The temple pieces have a soft rubber pad that keeps it comfortable while it is “pinching” your head to keep the glasses in place. However, this soft rubber does NOT wrap around the end which is hard plastic. When the temple pieces are folded, the hard end of the temple piece touches the inside of the lens. Over time this causes a vertical wear/scratch on the inside of the lens. I carry theses in my pants pocket and in the course of a day, the frames flex and cause the scratch. If you don’t carry them in a pocket or use the supplied foam sleeve, this should not be as much of an issue. I am going to try modifying the temple ends and see if I can solve the issue. At around $12 I am not that concerned if I have to replace them every year or two. I have also purchased the Jackson Safety Nemesis Safety glasses that I like as well, the temple pieces do NOT touch the inside of the lens However I don’t like the temple ends either, they come back straight to a point which could seriously poke you in the eye if you are not careful putting them on.

excellent idea!
great if you have to have reading glasses. protects you from the sun but allows you to read, see a tape measure, make correct markings, align items that need to be seen

Love These Glasses
I bought a clear pair and shaded to wear as sun glasses. The sun glasses are as good as the clear lens. My review of the clear lens Dewalt safety glasses is below. I'm 46 and wear reading glasses. It's gotten to the point I have to put on my reading glasses to see the tape measure, see to cut the line with a saw, etc - until now. These things are awesome! They have built in bifocals. Look down through the bifocal, you can see up close. Look up or straight ahead and you see through the regular safety glass. The bifocal part of the glasses is slightly oversized - for example, big enough so you can see the saw blade and the line you're cutting, not say just one tiny spot. The quality of the lenses seems good too. Objects are clear and sharp. They are stylish enough for a variety of uses and inexpensive enough to be disposable or easily replaceable - light and comfortable too. They even come with a protective sleeve to protect the lenses. Just remember... this is a review for $11.00 safety glasses, not $300.00 prescription glasses. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius. I just ordered a second pair with the smoked lenses for working outside (or reading a book on the beach, or sunglasses that let me see to tie a fly when fly fishing, you get the idea). Highly recommended!

Glasses Arrived with Scratches
First my main Con (why I only give them 3 stars): This is my second pair. I returned the first pair and asked for a replacement. Actually I ordered clear Bifocals and a pair of smoked bifocals. I returned both pair. The reason? Scratched lenses right out of the packaging. The clear pair of safety glasses in the replacement order also arrived with a scratched lens, the second pair of smoked lenses were not. The scratches seem to be caused by the packaging. I ordered them in the Frustration Free packaging so the standard packaging may not cause similar damage. My guess, based on what I can see is the glasses jiggling loose inside the packaging, plastic lens against plastic container scratches the outside of the lenses where they rub the container. Not good. I decided to keep the clear pair this time. The scratches won't interfere with my vision, they are only on the right lens and slightly right of my right eye's direct field of vision, but still within my peripheral vision, annoying. I'd let Dewalt know about this problem if I knew how. No one whats to pay this kind of money for scratched glasses. Pros: The 1.5 bifocal portion on each lens is clear and works well. Freeing me from having to switch back and forth to my readers when trying to read a tape measure or ruler. Plus the bifocal sections are located low enough that I easily can look over them when I don't need them, which is most of the time. So, I really like this feature. The nose bridge pads are rubber and very comfortable. The clear and the smoked glasses are identical other than the tinting in the smoked lenses for sunny outdoor work. The no magnifying portion of the lenses are not distorted and easy to look through, not counting the scratches. The protective cover sleeve is a thick stretchy fabric that protects the lenses and holds the glasses securely. It has a small plastic clip hook that will fit over a normal width belt loop, say on a pair of jeans. Minor Con: The protective sleeve is very tight I worry I'm going to break my glasses when pulling it over them. I've only done it a few times so far and so far so good. hopefully that will continue. I took several pretty good pictures of the glasses, protective sleeve and Packaging, but it appears Amazon is no longer allowing customer product photos.
