New Paradise item for me to try
I use only Paradise fruit mixes at the holidays when making fruitcakes. I decided to try the diced citron this time in a lemon pound cake for some additional kick. It was priced right so now was the time! When it arrived, I expected the quality of fruit I got with the mixed & was not disappointed, the fruit has a nice fresh, clean look that will look great in the cake, Tried a few pieces, no signs of it not being fresh & it tasted great. Perfectly sized for baking & like other Paradise products, I am sure it will retain the color when cooked.

Fresh well-sealed/packaged product. But no strong orange flavor like I had B/4. :( Citron not citrus
Taste OK, but I was planning to replace one of the citrus ones I had with it, and the flavors are just not the same. I had one that was a little more orangey (bought several years ago) and thought because this said Citron just like that one, that the flavors would again be great mixed into cream cheese for my bagels smear. Nope. The texture is fine, and similar to what I had before. The color is also pale and greenish, which is not very appealing. The previous purchased (from the food store, not online) were orange. They are fresh and not dry by any means, and there is a plastic seal around the lid to keep them from drying out. It just wasn't what I wanted despite the name and the manufacturer being the same. High quality. Good value. But doesn't have the orangey flavor I so love. Maybe it would work for fruit cake. Good quantity and keeps a long time. Be careful when you order to make sure this is the flavor profile you are seeking. They are many varieties of this product.

Must for Christmas baking
Candied citron is a must have for Christmas and Easter baking. From traditional fruitcakes and stollen to hot cross buns, this citron adds just a hint of tang and a splash of color to your baked goods. When local stores fail, look on Amazon
This holiday season, there was no candied citron available in any local store for some mysterious reason, even though I’ve purchased this exact Paradise brand in stores before. I was elated to find it on Amazon and ordered 3 containers. It is exactly the same as I used to buy in store, and arrived well packed. Thanks to this product, my Christmas lebkuchen baking was a success.
