Be careful what you wish for!
It is a bit loud, but other than that it's great. The first thing I did was pull it apart to hyper-align it, and once that was done the micro-adjust mechanism was very effective in dialing in my espresso grind. I was shocked to experience how true it is that small changes in grind and brewing ratio can have a quite noticeable effect on the flavor profile of a shot. I'm glad I sprung for it (and for the Cafelat Robot press my wife had previously gotten me). Except that now the only place I can get a good cup of coffee is at home!

This is a good grinder that's at a medium price point
Good grinder, had issues with timer but was resolved with tech support. Offered to service at no cost.

Baratza honored warranty
Baratza Vario+ Flat Ceramic Burr Grinder failed after 6 months of use and grinding a total of 16lbs coffee The LED panel lit up - the timer worked but the motor did not engage and grind. Baratza customer support followed through on their warranty commitment and replaced nonfunctional grinder. The replacement grinder has worked fine.

Fantastic grinder for espresso
I love mine (older version but essentially the same.) Great for espresso grind with plenty of adjustment still available if I needed it finer. I especially appreciate the fact that most every component of the grinder is easily replaceable. I know this because one pound of coffee a while ago had a piece of wood in it. When it jammed the burrs, rather than burning the motor, the drive belt broke. I contacted Baratza and they immediately shipped a new belt which was easily replaced. Sound engineering. Their website has many "How to" videos. I've had mine for 5 years now and based on my calculations I've put about 75 lbs of coffee beans through it. Other than that piece of wood (not Baratza's fault) it has run perfectly. Re the reviewer who said it doesn't grind but all the other electronics work, I suggest checking to make sure the bean hopper is fully secured because there is a lock-out switch that prevents the burrs from spinning if the hopper is not installed.

I give up.
Had this grinder for years and it can't grind for espresso. So expensive I didn't want to admit it. Finally biting the bullet and donating this pos. I miss having espresso.

It's an excellent grinder. For this interested, the internal grinder burr and build is the same as the Baratza Forte AP (all purpose), except the Vario+ does not have a screen, and it doesn't have a scale, so it only deliver coffee by time. It definitely can grind fine enough for espresso and coarse enough for French press (I personally use 2H and 10Q, but ±3 letters also work).
