We recently moved from northern Illinois to the mountains of Arizona. Having lived near one of the great lakes, we never gave much thought to the water quality. We were on "city water" and water from the tap always tasted fine in IL. Now that we are living in AZ, the water just tastes different. Due to high winds, we also have a lot of dust particles in the air so we invested in this water filtration system. The taste of our water has noticeably improved. I decided on the Waterdrop system after doing research and reading a lot of reviews. I chose this brand for its 5-stage filtration, its large capacity, and its slim design. I like that the filter does not sit in the water like other brands. It fits nicely in my counter-depth side-by-side refrigerator. I had considered replacing the fridge with one with a built-in water filter/dispenser, but can now hold off on that expense now that we have this great filter dispenser. It was easy to set up and the sliding door on the top makes it easy to refill without removing the lid. If you're wondering about the difference between the classic and the smart indicator models like I was at first, here's a tip. One had a round knob that you use to mark the month you changed the filter and the smart indicator model lets you know when it is time to change the filter. We've had no problems with leakage. We haven't had to change the filter yet, so I cannot speak to that just yet. It comes with one filter and I've already purchased a set of replaceemtn filters for when I do. The replacement filters were reasonably priced and I saved a few dollars by buying in bulk. I bought the Waterdrop brand filters because some reviewers recommended against buying the generic ones. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase! We are saving money on buying bottled water and keeping plastic waste out of the landfills. Win-Win!

I traded in a similar dispenser made by Zero Water because the filters kept clogging (even new ones) with this dispenser made by Waterdrop and I couldn't be happier. I use this dispenser primarily for travel, as I stay in a lot of cabin type rentals and the water quality is usually iffy, so filtering is a must for my peace of mind. This dispenser is made of good quality plastic with a nice spout that works smoothly, and the slim design makes it easy to transport while not taking up too much space on the counter. This dispenser filters the water very quickly, so the first glass is ready to drink in about a minute after adding water to the top reservoir. I mentioned the customer service in my title because I had a slight problem with the first filter that came with the unit, so I reached out to the company. They responded very quickly and escalated my issue to Rebecca, who quickly sent out three replacement filters which I received in a few days. It's not often that a company stands by their products, so I felt compelled to mention how pleased I am that Waterdrop goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy. I would certainly recommend this dispenser (and Waterdrop in general) to anyone in need of good, filtered water - as a side note I also have another under-sink Waterdrop filter for home use and it also works great. Highly recommended!

Update October 26, 2025: Customer service is fantastic and seriously concerned with satisfaction. They sent me the alkaline filter to try out and see if that was any better. Before installing the alkaline filter, I did a taste test of the filter it originally came with, albeit, towards the end of its filtering life. Tap water straight from faucet had quite a strong scent of chlorine and definitely tasted like tap. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the water tasted very good without having to double filter thru the original filter before the change. This leads me to believe that either a) I didn’t prep the filter properly per packaged instructions (though I thought I did), or b) the filter has a bit of a break-in period before one gets the best tasting water. In any case, I swapped out for the alkaline filter (making sure to properly prep it per instructions), and it definitely removed the chlorine smell along with the tap water taste. The water tasted crisp in a way…almost similar to how water tastes after a filter change if that makes any sense. One design aspect I did notice after all this testing, is that there are “ramps” at the bottom of the dispenser that allow one to get almost every bit of water which was very cool to see. I’m inclined to test how long the “break-in” period of the original filter is. But all-in-all, great product, even greater customer service. Waterdrop still has a lifelong customer in me. Original Review: Great build quality, but it didn’t filter the water like the electric water pitcher I have of theirs. The water still tasted like tap, and I suspect it’s due to the 2 stage filter instead of the 5 stage filter on their e-pitcher. I’d like to believe it’s filtering, but the water did not taste good. Right now I dispense from the e-pitcher into this to “double” filter the water. Tastes waaay better that way.

Estoy feliz con esta compra. Al poderla meter en la nevera, el agua sale fresa y deliciosa. Da gusto beberla. Es muy cómodo de reponer y también de servir. El formáto es súper adecuado para meter en la nevera porque ocupa muy poco espacio y tiene gran capacidad.

Water tastes and smells much better!!! Coffee made with the filtered water also tastes better, I’m glad that I ordered the slim size..fits nicely in my refrigerator. A larger family may prefer the larger size.

From the last 2 weeks Review I would give this a 5*. Really easy to use and tasty water as well.
