Almost 5 yrs and still ticking
I purchased Keystones 70pint unit in 2018. I have had it now for almost 5 YEARS and the machine is still filling the bucket everyday. I usually expect 2 yrs from these garbage machine, but I got a gem in this one! I bought a Frigidaire in 2022 for another area and after 5 MTHS it was done, the back freezing over. I guess I need to try Keystone again!

Puts off a lot of heat!
I just received it today. I found it easy to get it running, within an hour there was about a quart of water in the bin. I turned it off in order to hook up the parts so that it would automatically drain through a hose. The assembly was provided by the manufacturer (it's in the drainage bin fyi). I found it difficult to attach the tubing to the internal drain pipe. I never could get it all the way on there but managed to get it pretty close. I then hooked up a hose to the outer hose bib. It is best to use as short a hose as possible because this is a gravity fed drain not a pump drainage set up, unfortunately, I thought I had ordered a unit with a pump, guess I was so busy comparing everything that I got the wrong one so pay attention! There is a 2 1/2 lip to my shower so I had a time trying to keep the drain hose level until it reached the shower drain. The reason I knocked off a star is because of the heat that comes out of this thing. The air is SO hot that I made sure to never get too close to it for fear of a burn similar to one from say a boiling pot of water. It raised the air temperature by 3°. I bought this to aid my ac unit since one of the major functions of the ac unit is to remove moisture from the air. If you've ever heard the weatherman say "it's 87° but the real feel temperature is 94°" the humidity in the air causes it to feel 7° higher in this example. It's the same inside your home. I don't think it does much good when it's putting off so much heat. I had a much, much older model in another home & it didn't put off any noticeable heat, I wish I had not given it away 23yrs ago! So beware, do your homework and if there is no information about how much heat it puts off, call the customer service line & ask!

Top Notch Quality for a Great Price!
My wife and I ordered one of these for our bathroom because the vent fan broke that was not I stalled properly. Rather than paying hundreds of dollars to have a fan properly installed we decided to get the Keystone. This thing is outstanding. We can run hot water in the shower and the Keystone doesnt let the bathroom get fogged up at all. This is great because we dont have to worry about mold due to the excess moisture. We also live in the Tidewater region of Virginia and humidity here can be pretty bad. We ran this during the humid summer months and it kept the humidity under control without a problem. We loved the Keystone dehumidifier so much that we ordered a second one. We now have one for our upstairs and for our downstairs. As long as the doors are open the Keystone keeps the entire floor dehumidifier. I've noticed a big difference in my allergies and the house has been much more comfortable. The Keystone is not too noisy in my opinion. It's not much louder than a running refrigerator. I highly reccomend this product! From the extensive research I did online prior to purchasing, I found this was the best bang for your buck. After buying not one, but two of these, I can now back up that statement.P.S. another bonus to using this in a bathroom while showering is that it keeps the bathroom warm on a cold winter morning. There is nothing worse than getting out of the warm shower into a cold bathroom. And this makes it much more pleasant!

Runs at 68db - Way too loud!
I bought this high efficiency model to replace a previous Keystone unit that was 5 years old. This new one is significantly louder than my prior model. Runs at 63db when compressor and fan are both going. My office is in the basement - relatively near the unit and it is quite disruptive. We can also hear it from the floor above. It is ok when it's running with the fan only, but compressor and fan are both on about 70% of the time as I need to keep the basement at 45% humidity in hot/ humid New England summer. Noise aside, it dehumidifies very well. I have several hygrometers in my basement and they all stay at about 45%. I use continuous gravity draining with a hose going from the unit to a sump pump well and have no complaints there.

Location is important!
I needed this when I moved into an old mobile that had poorly insulated windows. My inside windows were constantly drenched even when the weather was above freezing and I had storm windows in bedrooms. I live in the Pacific NW so it is pretty damp even in traditional homes...but this was ridiculous. Bought dehumidifier...read all the literature and reviews before AND that came with. It immediately started working and I was dumping a lot of water within 12 hours. After a few days it got to be less and the windows were almost dry in the mornings. After a month it wasn't getting near as much so I moved it to a more central location...BUT it stopped collecting...but kept running after a filter alert. I was concerned that it was defective since the filter was clean as a whistle when I checked it...and it stopped collecting. Finally before calling the company I re-read everything...and noticed it said you needed 20 cm clearance. It had more than that EXCEPT on the side the exhaust came out. I moved it to another location...and problem solved. It is happily collecting and IF I set it to 40% I have fairly dry windows even with freezing weather...but if at auto...the windows are wet in mornings. So I don't use the auto and keep humidity lower than normal. I had levels around 68% and up to 72% in one bedroom before the humidifier...and my house smells so much better!

Nice Features
This replaces a similar capacity dehumidifier from a different maker which only lasted about two years. Hopefully this one will prove more durable. Noise level is acceptable for the location (basement) and it was easy to set up for continuous draining. The feature I like best is the "Comfort" setting which activates the dehumidifier only when the humidity exceeds a range (max of 54%, it appears). This reduces the cycling that occurs when setting a single value for the humidity. Size was important and the dimensions are a great fit for the location while providing the needed rated capacity.
