OWC USB-C to Dual HDMI 4K Display Adapter - M1 13inch MacBook Pro with two 27 inch displays
The M1 13-inch will only support 1 extra monitor due to Apple's build. The OWC USB-C adapter has enabled a seamless 2 external monitor setup. I have a 27-inch Apple Display using Thunderbolt and a Dell 27-inch (4k). I connect the Apple Display using my CalDigit TS2 to the M1 and the Dell runs through the OWC adapter using DisplayLink. both work independently of each other, and the view is seamless, I have the Dell running at 2K to match the Apple Display's 2K. And it never has any issues. No latency issues. The only annoying thing is when I restart or it goes to sleep overnight, the Dell doesn't always come up, the workaround is to remove the power source from the OWC to effectively reboot DisplayLink, and then it comes up every time in a few seconds. And there is never any lag. I would imagine if the DisplayLink doesn't care that I'm running the Apple Display there's no reason why you could have three external displays running. Thank you OWC for a solid, dependable product with a robust build at a decent price.

Phenomenal Dual Monitor Solution for M1 Macs that Only Support 1 Display
WOW. I don't normally leave reviews for products, but I had to come here to write one for this adapter. I recently started a new job and the computer they provided me was an M1 Macbook Pro. Prior to this, I was using a PC on dual monitors. I find it pretty insane that in 2023, Apple has limited M1 Macbooks to 1 external display even though my personal 2015 Mac can do 3 displays. Apple said this Mac could not do 2 displays and there were no other solutions online. I need 2 monitors for my work, so I was happy to give this a try (even though it seems expensive). It has worked perfectly, no lag, great quality. I use 1 27in 4k screen and 1 24in 1080p screen. It allows me to use both seamlessly in clamshell mode. All I had to do was download the software and plug it in and it worked right away. Refresh rate is great and it even shows up as multiple displays in the Mac Displays settings. Truly a lifesaver and no issues what-so-ever.

Convenient adapter for users who use both Mac and Windows
I recently purchased the OWC USB-C to Dual HDMI 4K Display Adapter with DISPLAYLINK, and I am happy with it. This adapter has simplified my setup by allowing me to connect both of my monitors to my MacBook Pro and Windows computer with just one cable with power delivery. One of the standout features of this adapter is its compatibility. I've had issues in the past with other products only working for either my Mac or Windows computer, but this adapter supports both. Whether I'm using my MacBook Pro (2016 Intel processor model) or my Dell Thinkpad, this adapter works great as I’m able to quickly switch between the two. I did encounter a minor hiccup with my MacBook Pro, as I needed to download a Synaptics DisplayLink driver to make it work, however once installed, the adapter worked perfectly. My Windows computer recognized the device natively without the need for any additional drivers.

Not For Me but It Does Work
First off, I have a feeling that all the people who say it doesnt work did not read the directions. You have download and install the display link software for it to work. So it does work. I was trying to solve a pretty unique problem. I use two displays day to day with my m2 Pro Mac mini: 1 with 4k 120hz and 1 with 4k 60hz. Sometimes I'll also connect the computer to my home theater for testing where the computer sees that connection as a 3rd display. The only way for it work is to then disconnect my secondary display which is annoying and I'd like to use it when testing. So, I picked up this thing. It did work, but I am pretty sure there was a bit of choppiness being added to my displays. I also lost the ability to scale one of my monitors like I like. So, it wasn't worth those issues. But it does work so I can recommend it for specific applications.

Awesome product OWC!!
Finally, something that works!! First off, I have a Mac Book Pro M2. I don't know what it was with the docking stations that I was trying, but I had no luck. I wanted to have two monitors with my laptop display available to use. The two docking stations I had tried indicated they were DisplayLink compatible, but I had no luck. I then purchased the CalDigit TS4, thinking that would solve my problem (awesome docking station by the way), buuuut due to me not reading the requirements carefully, it only supports the M2 Pro, not the M2. So I decided to give it one last go and came across this gem. I plugged my second monitor in one of the two HDMI ports available on the OWC adapter, then connected the USB - C connector to the CalDigit, and BAM! All my screens are up and running. I have a 32" Ultra Wide running at 2560x1080, 32" running at 1920x1080 (can set it at 3840x2160, and runs perfectly), and also my laptop screen, Ultra Wide is running at 75 Hertz, and the 32" is running at 60 Hertz. I hope this review helps. Cheers!! (The OWC USB - C to Dual HDMI adapter supports two 4K@60Hz external displays)

Works 1 out of 10 times properly
This is a waste of money. Do not buy it if you want consistency. I usually have to open my mac, close it, unplug all cables, unplug both hdmi cables from this device, then reconnect everything before it begins to work properly (sometimes it shows only one screen, sometimes it flickers, sometimes it doesn't work at all for any screens). Another thing not mentioned is that you cannot ever stream from any streaming services using this device as your screen thinks it is being recorded. (Not the fault of this device, but still should be mentioned.) My main complaint is that it simply cannot be trusted to work as intended.

Apple M2 Chip - Kinda works, blurry low resolution scaling
Can confirm this OWC dual monitor USB-C adapter does work on Apple M2 2022 silicone chip. However: - Low resolution scaling (blurry text for in-between non-native sizes) - Laggy mouse cursor (choppy & slightly delayed, like on AirPlay) - Night shift doesn't work (even when choosing "support f.lux" option) - Permissions require screen recording (questionable privacy)

Just works, use the Display link driver, verified to working Macos 12/13 and up. Works with PC, use the display link driver. If you are a buying foe the business, this will do it. Don't mesa around with any other so called adapters, this works. It will require a USC C power supply 65 watt to cru a charge your machine at the same time as using two additional screens. An price point for it its competitive than the far more expensive other solutions.

This thing made it, my system now recognizes and works perfectly fine with two screens. For the M2 chips please download *Display Link Manager* and give permission to record your screen, what it does it basically uses the same kind of tech that Apple CarPlay uses so that’s why it requires you to let it record bits at a time. The adapter has two HDMI and one Type-C although you get that extra type c it does not work with my JLab Bluetooth dongle so I had to switch to wireless. Other than that, this thing is pricey, but it works.

I bought this for my 2023 MacBook Air M2 to run two external screens and it has worked perfectly so far. I've had the adapter for two months and was previously running Ventura and now on Sonoma 14.1.1. The driver installation was fast and easy. I'm not using external screens for anything requiring hi-res (just word processing mainly) so this device is perfect for me. The only small glitch I've found is that occasionally the external screens won't detect the device, but unplugging the HDMI cables from the adapter and reinserting them fixes that instantly, and it only happens rarely when the adapter hasn't been plugged into my laptop for a few days, i.e., it hasn't dropped signal at all while I've been working on the computer with external screens running.
