Perfect for hobbyist use
I've recently gotten into electronics work and retro console refurbishment specifically. A common task is replacing capacitors and using a desoldering wick gets old really fast. As a hobbyist, I can't justify purchasing a Hakko FR301, and the cheaper clones seemed a bit questionable. I decided to give a manual desoldering sucker a try and I don't regret it one bit. It's very easy to operate one-handed, and once you get some practice in, it's very quick.I started using the bigger nozzle, and while it worked pretty well, I often needed to go back through with a wick to get components to pop loose. After getting a bit more practice and switching to the smaller nozzle, this thing is working awesome. Components often pop loose after the first suction attempt, or wiggle free after tapping them with the iron. I've also removed nearly 50 components without damaging a single solder pad.Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with how effective and quick this manual desolder pump works. My last project was removing 31 capacitors from a Sega Genesis and I was able to accomplish this without any major hiccups in about a half hour. This would have taken me hours with the a desoldering wick. The only real unknown is the longevity, but I do see that spare tips are available and will be ordering some just to have on hand.

Get this if you want to save a lot of frustration
These work great, i was looking at the other kinds and I am glad I went with this. I used them for desoldering Xbox joysticks and they made the job so much easier.

Works good for the price
I used it for the first time today it worked well it was Abe to remove most of the solder from the throw holes I did gave to add bit more solder because it didn't want to come of but one thing that I realized tha was alarming was when I turned it on for the first time there was smoke coming out of it

This is a wonderful tool, particularly useful for removing parts with many through-hole pins
This tool is much better than other suction tools that require a separate soldering iron to melt the tin.Very simple, very fast, very clean. The instructions on the box are hard to read (too many different languages) and they are not very clear. If you want written instructions, prepare your own by doing screen captures of the images on this Amazon page and printing them (or saving them on your computer). If you want a video tutorial, watch the video on this Amazon page.

I hope after service will take care, but meantime please read befere purchas
I bouth two times this product, it looks and seem very good, the first time due the last storm in United States the item did not arrive, however Amazon makes the refund as they are very serious and responsibles, the second time the item arrive but the case did not include 4 (four) pieces, the support, the 2 spare parts nozzles and the pin for clean. I try the product desoldering for about 30 minutes and the nozzle was burned and broken, now with out the spare part the suction is not good. When I receive the product the looks little burned as you can see in the photo near to the package, that photo was just open, so I have the little idea it was used, that is why I did not receive the complete parts. Hope the manufacturer can receive it and could send me the lacking parts

Works as it should
Works perfectly, used it to remove and replace the bulbs on a vintage stereo receiver.

Really simple and handy
Got this to do some desoldering of dip package chips on old NES boards. This product makes quick work of it. The learning curve is easy. So long as you have the surface flush with the chip, you'll have good suction and it should pull the solder up on the first or second attempt.I've managed to desolder about 5 NES PPU chips with this tool alone and haven't had any issues. It's pretty easy to remove the solder from the canister tooA good tip: don't twist the tool against the board when working with small traces, just wiggle it a bit. Don't hold the tip in place for more than a couple of seconds at a time. If working with old joints, try re-tinning them with a dab of new solder and some flux before trying to use this tool to remove the solderI think this tool is an adequate replacement for something like a Hakko for most casual hobbyists at a fraction of the cost, and I don't think it's really any harder to use to get the same end result.

Works better than my electric suction pump
Sometimes the old style of things work better, this one being no exception. A brilliant piece of ingenuity taking the old reliable but clunky large spring suction tube design and adding a heated tip. Massive burst of suction for those tiny holes that you just cannot seem to get open. Worth every penny.BTW, the other vacuum pump unit still works better on larger holes supplying long-term suction.
