Is this hair anti-itch or will have to wash it before using it?

You do not have to wash this hair before use, but you can wash it a few weeks after wearing the braides and they will still look fresh.

How many packs are needed for a full head?

That depends on what you’re doing. I have a small head with fine hair. So splitting the hair did about 30 small box braids and used 2 of the 3 bundles. I’m also a newbie.
