INDUSTRIAL BY DESIGN – 8ft Double Bypass Sliding Barn Door Hardware Kit – Ultra Quiet, Designers Choice, All Parts Included, Easy Installation with DIY Video Instructions

First off I followed the instructions and in the video it states you can use a 1 by 6 or a 1 by 8 as your ledger board. Since I'm installing in a 8ft closet opening with their bypass system, I had to use a ledger board but come to find out. They didn't know much about the product that they sell and using a 1 by 6 or a 1 by 8 is impossible since the distance is over 8 in length from the top to the bottom bolt. To give this advice and after 20 back and forth emails I still have not received a solid answer as to what to do. This was purchased based upon the reviews and the help that people have received from the company but unfortunately if you purchase their bypass system and use a ledger be prepared. Looks like I am the first one to figure this flaw out. I would like to return but now I am outside the window because of all these back and forth emails with the company. If you look at my pictures you will notice that there is two 1x6 is that had to be used as Ledger's. Notice the bottom bracket is at the bottom of the first 1x6 and the bracket for 2nd rail bolts that extend Way Beyond though first 1x6 and thus requiring a second 1x6

The 8ft bypass kit is really well made, and ended up working out really well for my 8ft opening. If you're handy and can build your own doors, you'll save a bit of money over a prebuilt and get exactly what you want in the end. Wife is super happy with the final result.The seller (Wes) was super helpful and responsive when my package arrived damaged and missing parts. He sent me everything I needed right away. Then almost 2 months later when I finally got around to installing the hardware, I snapped one of the bolts while torquing it down. Wes again came through and sent me a replacement. Both times I got great support when I needed it, so I will be buying from this seller again. The hardware looks fantastic too! The only thing is I wish the gap between the doors was a little less. I think that's my issue though and I should've made the doors thicker.

No problems installing, worked great with my custom built barn doors to separate the master bedroom to the master bath. When selling the home everyone commented on the transition. I think this product helped set it off. I highly recommend a header such as you see installed here to avoid having to install multiple anchors and or organize the door across studs.

Product is sturdy and substantial. Some misconceptions: I thought I was getting full 8’ rail not two 4’, some parts of the in instructions are “clear as mud”, all and all we figured it out but it made installation longer. Still would recommend just make sure you give yourself PLENTY of time.

NOT solid length rails as stated in description. Ordered from two different vendors (suggested by Amazon to do so) Both vendors sent a “short” box which included 3’ rails that you have to mount together to make the longer rails. Description NEEDS to be updated. So frustrating.

Absolutely love this track! I wasn’t sure I was going to like the strap style track but it’s perfect! Quality of the track is amazing, nice and strong! Easy to install. Definitely recommend.

Absolute Junk! This is not the 2x 8 Foot rails that it advertises. It is 8x 2 Foot Rails that you must attach together with crappy brackets. The end result is a shotty rail system that causes the wheels to jump on every seam. Do not waste your money!

I purchased the double bypass kit. The 2 8 foot rails were not 2 solid pieces as described in the video, each rail was 3 pieces that I had to put together. Also, the bypass wall mounts are not 1 solid piece either, it is 2 pieces. You mention the solid pieces as a benefit to your product as it makes them stronger, but that is not how they are made. Seems like I got a less reliable product than what was talked about in the video, seeing as those were made selling points in the video.
