Silva Ninox ll Headlamp - Black by

I purchased this headlamp on the basis it was reasonably high powered (140 lumens) for its size and water proof with it.I've not been disappointed so far, this lamp lives on my Search and rescue helmet, has been submerged in swift water both training and real life and hasn't let me down yet.The beam is bright, all be it non focused it gives a good general light throw over a decent distance. More than adequate for what I use it for.If I'd have to gripe about anything it would be the rotation of the unit itself, it could do with being just that bit firmer. The red "night vision" led is borderline useless. It's on that basis it got 4 stars instead of 5.I got mine in 2014 for far less than advertised now. Not sure I'd be willing to pay much more than what I did for it.

Excellent headlamp for running enthusiasts! Bought for my husband who is an ultra runner and this is just what he needed when doing a 100 mile race which went throughout the night. This torch meant he could keep running with no problems about being able to see where he could go.

Not as bright as I would like, but good battery life

Excellent headlamp which works in such a way that you feel confident about having it with you. Beautifully made too.

Molto debole la costruzione. Il supporto della fascia si è rotto dopo poche settimane di uso. Silva dovrebbe fare uno sforzo per assicurare maggiore robustezza ad un prodotto usato soprattuto in "outdoor". Anche la versione precedente di questa lampada ha ricevuto recensioni negative sulla solidità

Es un frontal sencillo sin grandes prestaciones, pero suficiente para la gente que vaya a realizar carreras a nivel principiana que lo compre te o para dar un paseo por el campo, las tres estrellas las pongo ya que lo compre reacondicionado y venia bastante usado.

No es estanco, le entra agua facilmente y si no lo abres y lo dejas secar se jode.Sistema de sujeción muy debil, se me rompio al poco tiempo.

I bought this because it is actually waterproof (IPX7) and not just water resistant like most other head torches.When it arrived I put the batteries in and checked that it was working. All appeared OK. The torch then sat on a dry shelf for a couple of weeks. On it's first (and only) day in the field, I placed the torch in a warm and dry pocket for a couple of hours then used it for approx five minutes. At no point was the torch exposed any adverse conditions. When I pressed the button to switch the torch off, the light remained on. I had to unscrew the battery compartment to turn the thing off. The torch has worked OK since.Reliability is extremely important to me in a head torch, and do not trust this product at all now.It is also worth mentioning is that I bought the first Silva Ninox a while ago, and it suddenly stopped working after it's first battery change.Finding a reliable and waterproof headtorch is actually quite difficult. Most Petzl head torches are only IPX4 (not fully waterproof).I own head torches by Zebralight and Armytek. They are expensive, but perform better than any of these plastic non-regulated lights, and so far have been 100% reliable.

What can I say. It arrived on time and works really well. Another thing I find really great about it is the little strip of 'non slip' material on the inside of the headband which keeps the whole thing from moving once its on my head.So far so good.

Did not work at all. Even tried my own brand new batteries. Immediate return to Amazon.Shocking that the actual price is apparently £300!!I wouldn't pay 300 pesos for it.I am trying the H7 LED Lenser instead. Let's see how that turns out.

Useful illumination pattern: quite wide and uniform, without sudden edge. Only 2 brightness settings (just about OK for night running on footpaths). The on/off switch on mine occasionally needs to be pressed repeatedly before it works. Battery life seems to be decent. I find it slightly uncomfortable on my forehead (sticking some felt on it should fix this).
