I'd suggest using this on a weekly basis if your pipes haven't been cleaned in quite a while. Afterward, only once a month. The smell is nice; no harsh chemical smells. Very EASY to use... put an unopened packet in the disposer, turn on HOT water (to a trickle), turn on the disposer, and let 'er rip! You'll see the cleansing foam come up through the other side of your sink to clean that pipe as well. I would NOT recommend leaving this running unattended if you have cats. With all of the foam that is generated, cats have a tendency to reach for the bubbles. THe cleanser may be dangerous for the cats.

I haven’t heard of these cleaners before, but my husband has. He told me that these are the best garbage disposal cleaners that are available. We had to use two of them because it’s been so long since we’ve cleaned our garbage disposal, but I can tell you it runs so much better. Plus there isn’t that smell that was there previously. There’s nothing like a dirty garbage disposal and after cleaning it properly it’s like getting a new one. Part of how it cleans is the foaming lemon scented pods added with the hot water, creates a foam that eats through the grease and buildup. It functions to clean all of the grease away from the blades and the pipes. And having a 24 count, which is a one year supply, I couldn’t be happier with having this disposal cleaner because I’m guaranteed to have a clean disposal all year long. I also appreciate the speed in which cleans, it makes all the difference for me.

I use 2 to get enough foam to also clean the sink drain. Smells great and cleans. Do follow instructions on amount of water to much makes it wash away to fast. To little hurts the disposal.

Great product! But DONT store them in the box long term! (Keep them air/moisture tight when storing) I only give 3 start instead of 5 because quite frequently I had to use 2 or 3 packets because they would fail to "activate" and would rinse down the disposer immediately instead of foaming up! When used correctly (which I was) they're supposed to break open when the disposer is turned on and the trickle of water is supposed to instantly mix with the powder and create a ton of foaming cleaning agent that gets stired around and agitated by the running disposer, and clean the inside of the unit and your sink drain for a good couple minutes before it finally starts to go down the drain, and when this happens correctly you can clearly hear a difference in sound, it goes from a very loud, sucking sort of sound (from the foaming cleanser getting mixed with water in the disposer) and the sound slowly fades away as the water dilutes it and it goes down the drain until it turns into a very quiet "trickle" sound. That's how you know when it's done working! But I noticed as the box aged under my sink and the packets started getting old and hard (about 8-12 mos old) more and more they started failing when id go to use one! I would follow the standard instructions and instead of activating and creating that loud "whooshing" sound for a couple minutes, it would just clink around for a few seconds as the paper packet got chewed up and immediately turn into a quiet trickle, indicating that all of the cleaner and paper packet had already been chewed up and washed down the disposer! When this would happen I would have to grab another packet and try again (sometime 3 times in a row before it would FINALLY work)! This didn't happen when they were brand new! It only started happening after a few months when they sat under the sink for a while and the packets would come out of the box feeling a bit "hard" and I would have to bend and squeeze the packets to break up the hard mass. That said, I would highly recommend taking the packets OUT of the box right away, and putting them inside of a good ziplock bag, squeeze out all the air, seal them up, and put the bag back into the box for long term storage. This would prevent them from absorbing moisture from the air, and hardening up inside of their paper packets! I imagine if I would have taken this step to ensure their freshness they would have lasted much longer and they would have worked like they did when I first got the box a year ago! Other than my little issue with having so many "duds" due to the product aging, the product works GREAT! They produce an incredible amount of foam that gets whipped around and mixed up by your spinning disposer, causing the cleanser to get thrown and sprayed into all of the little nooks and crannies of your disposer unit including up and around the dank, nasty, slimy, rubber drain guard that sits in your sink drain, and it makes your disposer smell nice and fresh and clean! I would recommend using one packet every week or two for best results, but I would ALSO recommend afterwards, pulling the rubber drain guard out of the sink drain (its jist held in with friction) and I would suggest flipping it over, and bending the rubber flaps to expose in between the rubber "folds". You'll see a TON of grayish/white sink "grease" that is just bits of decomposed food and fat residue from using the disposer! A little hot water, soap, and an old tooth brush will clean this gunk off, and a lot of people don't even realize that this is where a LOT of the STINK from your disposer/drain is actually coming from! Unfortunately this product will not remove 100% of this stinky build-up, even though it does make it a bit cleaner, it doesn't remove all of it. That will require removing the piece and using a toothbrush as mentioned above. I would highly recommend this product, but I would also recommend keeping it DRY and sealed away from air/moisture if you want to achieve the best results months/years from now!

Ok for maintaining a thoroughly cleaned disposal. However i fount it ineffective at removing build up in a older unit. We needed to use a foaming drain cleaner product first. Using this product weekly has been keeping it odour free since
