The Jane Austen Escape Room Book

Before I bought this book, reviewers were panning it because it’s not an escape room as we typically expect. I thought it was a beautiful book and worth checking out. It says right there in the prologue/intro/ what have you that it is not an escape from a room book like you might be expecting; it is a Will she escape from her potential scandal (of the times) and win back Mr. Darcy?. This is an outstanding book. Unlike a lot of those escape room books, especially a few of the advent calendar versions I usually need the hints page and the first sentence of the solution to help me go back and retry solving, I could solve these. I read the feature of Marjolein’s imagined addition to a portion of Pride and Prejudice and proceeded to actually solve the puzzle/conundrum. It wasn’t per se simple, but was for sure fun and entertaining. The story she wrote could also conceivably fit within that portion of scenes in the actual novel as well. I just love this book and really wish this author/artist did a Brontë, for example, version too.

If you love Jane Austen, you'll love this book. Very interesting. Lots to do and think about. Can do a little at a time or more if you have the time.

This book is very lovely and a great gift for a Jane Austen fan, but it's not an escape room game which some might find disappointing when they go to play it. With a different title I would give it 5 stars.

I love this little book! If you are a Jane fan you need this! I think the little puzzles are awesome! I wish I had two copies. One to preserve and one to do the puzzles

This is a cute idea for a book but is quite confusing and there isn't a lot of instructions. You have to reference things in the back for some of the puzzles but it's also by the answer key. Why not just put the reference material in with each step of the puzzle? I can't say I'd recommend it due to these reasons

Beautiful illustrations, gives me such Jane Austen “Feels”!

I used this book for a book talk and everyone loved the talk. I did black and white prints (I could not afford color) and handed out while I have my talk. Several people ordered the book because they loved the book My audience loved the talk as they can no longer travel but could see the walks through my talk. I ordered the book about historical battlefields for my son. Will eventually ordered 500 walks of history for a talk. The writer did a fantastic job writing this book.

This is my second order of this hardcover book; the first was for myself and this one will be a gift. Lovely illustrations and an interesting concept. Pleased with my purchases.
