Small, Easy to Use, Good Value
The sound quality is slightly tinny, but what do you expect for something this small? ( 4 cm x 9 cm x 12.5 cm, and 10 oz. ). It has a clear instruction manual, but you do not need it. The completely mechanical (not digital) controls are straightforward. It has a 4.5 V DC input jack, a microphone jack, and an earphone jack. The sturdy box includes a little microphone and earbuds that can be plugged into their respective jacks. I tested the AM/FM radio, the microphone, and the earbuds. Not concert hall quality, but they all worked fine. If you do not want to run it on two AA batteries, you can plug the included cord into the DC input jack and a standard USB power output and it runs fine. And yes, you can turn on its radio, press the Record button, and record your favorite radio program. In summary, a/the real deal.

EXCELLENT QUALITY in a COMPACT, MULTI-FEATURE DEVICE.
Upon receiving the Cassette Player/Recorder I tried every feature and was pleasantly surprised that everything worked as described. The speaker is excellent with or without headphones. It records and plays back as well as my expensive tape recorder. The number of AM/FM stations that I can tune in far exceeds what I get on my clock/radio and the antenna is a plus. It comes with ear buds that are very comfortable and a User Manual that is very easy to understand. I highly recommend this product and like it so much that I will be ordering 2 more as gifts.

Player is worth the price
I bought them for my daughter because she wanted to hear my old cassettes. She says the cassette player works well but the plug end of the wired earbuds already broke from normal use. Luckily I had a spare.

Great cassette player
Great cassette player--I've had it for over a year, dropped it multiple times, and it's still chugging along. The audio quality isn't anything to write home about (for both speaker and earbuds), but it's perfectly serviceable. The radio also isn't the clearest/most precise, but fine for tuning in to local stations. The provided mic is mid at best--I used a male male aux cord to record things off my laptop; again, audio quality is just fine, but that's all I needed it to be. Both plug in and battery power sources have worked fine, though I haven't really tested how long it lasts off of battery only. It's not high-end by any means, but it's perfectly functional at a decent price.

Pretty impressive, especially for the price!
A lot of great features in a fairly small package; and at a very good price point! It does a fine job of cassette playback, though I've not tested the record function. It comes with an external mic, as well as a pair of earbuds. Higher-quality headphones can improve your experience. Note that playback is simulated stereo, not real two-channel stereo. The radio works well on both AM and FM. Tuning is a bit tricky, as just a small movement of the thumbwheel scoots across the dial pretty fast. The internal speaker, a rarity on a machine this small, does a credible job. Unlike the slightly-smaller Walkman, a group can listen-in with plenty of volume. Certainly not hi-fi, but good for books on tape, sports or casual music listening. Seems to run a good long time on 2 inexpensive AA batteries.A great travel companion! Recommended.

Solid cassette tape recorder with just the right set of features and (even) accessories
I was just looking for anything that plays back my old high school music tape from decades ago. I came across this product and bought it only because it was cheaper than the music restoration services LOL. That said, I was impressed with the product as it was delivered, at this price. It is solid, works great, has speakers to test out music as I FF/REW the tape (w/o fiddling with headphones). The USB-based power plug was excellent as I was editing from the tape back and forth and didn't want the batteries to conk out and slow down the playback tempo (which may or may not happen with this unit). In addition, it not only came with (wired) earbuds but also an external mic! It has AM/FM radio, too, so it would come in handy in some disastrous situation when cell phones and internet doesn't work to catch emergency broadcast etc.I don't know the use of "Walkman" is legit here (it ain't no SONY in case it wasn't obvious), but it is actually a good solid product. (Disclaimer: this review was written only after 2 days (albeit solid 2 days) of use)

Poor sound quality
I obtained this item because I have a few favourite cassettes to which I still like to listen. The sound quality is very poor. I had to hold it to my ear to hear anything. I'll allow for that my cassettes are not new, and I tried the ear buds, but they were uncomfortable and did not stay in place. It is simple to use, which is rare now that it is assumed that everyone uses smartphones and downloads. The one I had in 1980 was of a higher standard. The seller did reach out to me with a resolution, and I received a full refund for the one that I returned.

modern ancient walkman.. with a speaker!
i have a whole box of audio cassettes, including mix tapes, that i couldn't listen to because i didn't have a player any more. didn't want to buy something huge or expensive.this nice small player has a radio tuner as well as cassette player and even has a speaker (mono) to listen without earphones and the ability to record with a built in microphone. takes two AA batteries, rechargables work just fine. you'll have to pop and flip the tapes yourself, no auto-reverse. and it's a little chunky.not a bad little unit for the price. will try and digitize some of my tapes with it. i can recommend it if you want to dust off your collection and give it a listen.
