Meets the basics
The product looks good and is of good quality, and fulfills its purpose of being a cassette player well. However, there is a big detail here: it is very basic and has very poor sound quality. However, don't expect anything special. If you just want to plug it in and play your music and don't care about quality, this product is wonderful. When connected to quality speakers, it remains poor, with no bass, midrange or treble. On its own speaker, the sound is just bad. It is not a cassette player for audiophiles, but for the price it is justified. Good ones cost 5 to 10 times more. So, it gets a 10 for delivering the basics.

Simple, Cheap, Cute, Basic Cassette Tape Player
Simple but serviceable! Two AA batteries went in and the device works just fine. Not a sound geek so I can't speak for that aspect; just looking to be able to play some old cassette tapes I had saved in a box in the closet. I was able to rediscover a silly story my sister had recorded over twenty years ago, among other treasures. It seems relatively durable and the powder blue color and design is kind of cute. Made in China unfortunately but that's pretty standard these days for electronics. For the price, I highly doubt one could do better!

Do yourself a favor, choose another tape deck
If your answer is yes to any of these questions then you should not buy this and instead choose a different brand:Q1: Are you looking to use this to record onto cassette tapes?Q2: Are you expecting to listen to sound on this device?Q3: Do you expect this device to have stereo sound and recording?Q4: When the description talks about a niche 4.5v barrel plug power cable, do you expect that cable to come with the device you paid for?Main points:1. For the same price as all the other tape decks on Amazon, this one has 0 features, and what it offers sucks.2. It offers playback, which you can hear the tape whirring away through the speaker, and it's MONO sound like what the heck??3. It offers recording (if you can call it that) through a mic or plug in, the sound again... IS MONO which is horrible and distorts any sort of prerecorded sounds, and voice recording is also a nightmare.4. Onto the features it doesn't offer:1. Within 10$ of this price you can find another deck with all the following features2. AM/FM radio & extendable antenna3. STEREO SOUND for pete's sake, the only people buying these are those that WANT TO LISTEN TO THINGS. This thing is unbearable, it's not nostalgic, it's not quirky it's unbearable!4. Auto rewind at the end of the tape, not a deal breaker just a convenience that many other decks have5. Track seeking to skip between songs by detecting the pauses, again not a deal breaker but there are some cheap decks out there with this amazing feature.Just stop and ask yourself the questions I wrote at the beginning, and then go buy a different cassette player.

Good cassette for an absolute beginner like me. Edit: Not good recording quality
I've never used a Cassette player before. I bought this one because I've been interested in "Retro" tech recently. The listening experience is fairly nice, somewhat lower quality than my phone with old airpods. But the listening experience is good, and the feeling of the physicality of music is hard to understate.I'm sure other cassettes, especially older ones, would have better audio quality. But this one seems to be a good one at its price point. I've yet to record anything though.Edit: I've recorded some stuff. I'd say the recording quality is pretty low, but its serviceable enough, especially for someone like me who likes the "retro" feel. Don't go into it expecting anything near professionally recorded cassettes from the past.

Cute and it humiliates digital systems with its price
its super cute and if you clean it every 45min it will never eat a tape. the sound quality and warmth is better than beats by dre. all analogue systems provide superior warmth and air to mp3’s.

Plays cassettes but not very good.
I bought this hoping it would be a good replacement for a old one I had but not very good. Cheaply built, poor sound quality. It's OK at best

For $20.00 it serves its purpose
I wanted this to play cassettes I had when my kids were toddlers… nursery songs and story telling. For a 3 yr old…. It does just fine!I would recommend this for a cheap, definitely temporary entertainment source for a child any day….(I just wouldn't expect it to last long…that’s the norm for stuff made in China)BUT…ALSO remember…..AGAIN, it’s cheap, that’s why you bought it😂….but it’s made in China…. So on top if not lasting very long, it will probably eat a couple cassette tapes!SO……I would NOT advise putting a cassette in it that you cherish…. For that….You need to find an old American made one and have it cleaned before you put your valuable cassettes in it. OR BETTER YET, go pay a couple bucks and have a company transfer it to whatever newer device you use…It’s doing what I needed it to for a cheap price! So I give it 5 stars. 👍👍
