Wine Tannin - 1 lb. : desertcart.in: Electronics Review: Thought I'd add in my two cents as when I purchased it I wasn't sure how the product would do for my purposes of knocking out dust mites and how I'd do healthwise (how much dust stays in the air) based on reviews. First, I'll say I used it because I had a major rash of demodex mites (increased insanely as I had to keep the windows boarded after major eye surgery and light sensitivity so I can heal. These are what cause blepharitis, contact dermatitis as well as seborrheac dermatitis all of which I'm blessed with having but never before could I feel them, ugh!). I sprinkled it lightly on my mattress and then covered with a sheet, all bug crawling quieted entirely even though I'd had issues with those sheets prior. For myself, I have VERY sensitive eyes (blepharitis, can't filter), I had 'no' problems with this in the air (it's 'chestnut' extract) BUT I would have had some had I not put first a bed protector and then the sheets because anything airborn can cause problems in powder form, also yes, it's very mildly acidic (how else can it be recommended for dust mites and (actually also) demodex mites)? :) So the fact that I didn't react made me happy as well as the fact that it worked. I've not vaccuumed it up though I'm sure I can. For those who had it recommended for 'allergies', I wish truly that whoever recommended it said 'why', so you'd know 'how' to apply it for this purpose because if you're sensitive to things as I am, I've found nothing else to work to kill dust mites though there are several steps you can do to help allergies with or without the wine tannins. If you have a major infestation of dust mites in a place or are super sensitive to dust. I'd test some of this on a small patch on the carpet (if you have carpet, not good b/c dust mites just replicate a lot in carpet and material), if it doesn't stain or bother you, test a little more, then leave in certain rooms, then vacuum, this is a cheap way of doing things, but otherwise to get rid of mites you need to vacuum with a sealed hepa vac, then use a steam cleaner and turn the ac down so no mold develops, and do this on all carpet. I sprinkled this on my mattress b/c I had a continual infestation of demodex mites that was constantly being regiven through sheets. Hot water washing and hot drying (for 15 minutes) or freezing can kill mites. I'd get new pillows (healthy ones) and encase them in eco pillow encasements, and then encase your bed. These are things that can help allergies as well as an air purifier. This product alone, can it help, yes, but if you can afford to do the other things or have a severe infestation of dust mites then I'd use the wine tannins. For me, my mattress cover is a mylar blanket (my affordability at this moment), in the future, I'll get an encasement. But the bugs are g-o-n-e. So, no, this is not all there is for allergies and this is how to use it, I'd put it on the mattress, I wouldn't put it on the sheets, I'd do the above (hot wash/dry) for sheets and blankets, pillows (they get funky in the washer but you can freeze them, better to have new if you've had them for some time as they collect dust). Anyways, I think they're awesome, knocked out years of mites in this floor model mattress I got. I couldn't tolerate diatomaceous earth which was the other thing recommended. Review: 👍

I use this product in my homemade wine and mead and it adds a wonderful mouth feel. It smooths out the flavor, balances the sweetness, and gives the final product more depth and structure. The quality is very consistent and it dissolves easily when added. A little goes a long way, so one package lasts through several batches. It has really improved the overall character of my drinks, making them taste more complete and professional. For home winemakers and mead makers looking to add body and balance, this is a great addition to have on hand.

Tanned a squirrel hide with some of it. I plan on using this for tanning more hides
