Honeywell Security Lynx Touch L5200 4.7" Color Touchscreen All-in-One Home and Business Control System

I purchased this because my house was already wired with honeywell and i couldn't reset the previous one. I wanted to do self monitoring via the application and connecting it to my wifi, but unfortunately you have to pay companies monthly just to get a log in for the app so you can self monitor.Doesn't fit my needs so I will return it but it does work.

Fantastic alarm system. I pulled an old Honeywell control panel and was able to use the existing wireless sensors (Honeywell 5816) form the old system and got everything working and programed within about an hour or so. System is great and I saved a ton of money by doing it myself. This product is super easy to install. I paired it with the wifi chip and everything works smooth.

The product sold does not include Wi-Fi or zwave as stated in the product name or image. False advertising. *Update* Amazon did include the missing wifi and zwave boards. This ad is still incorrect. Buyer beware or be ready to put up a fight. Outside of the incorrect listings, the unit is great. I give the L5200 5 stars. It is well designed and a fairly easy system to install. The included instructions are cryptic, but many great how-to videos have been posted on the web for the L5100 and L5200. This is a great system for the DIY. Be sure to fully understand what is included.

replaced a lynx touch L5000 with this unit. Finally offers z-wave (with an add-on) and wi-fi (with an add-on) communication back to the central station. what i like most about this is that it saved me from having to purchase all new sensors as the sensors that worked with the L5000 also work with this unit. the screen is nice and having total connect 2.0 access from the phone or tablet is pretty handy. i paired it up with a few z-wave devices like lights and door locks and it lets me set events up that if you come home and open a door up it will turn on some lights, etc. In all I'm pretty pleased with the unit. I self-installed the whole thing and went with a DIY central station monitoring company that has saved me a ton of money each month in monitoring costs. $20/mo instead of $60/mo from my previous provider.

One of the best upgrades I have done to my home. Installation was pretty straight forward by following youtube videos. Now we can activate and disarm our alarm with our phones using an app by Honeywell called Total Connect 2.0. Whenever the alarm status changes I get a notification via sms and also lets me know who disarmed or armed the system (wife, nanny, or me). You can still use a 3rd party to monitor your home but with notifications coming to my family's phones I figured save the extra $20 a month. Also loved the fact that I could connect honeywell's smoke detectors to this system too. If our house ever caught fire while we are away, we might be able to save it.Great peace of mind technology.
