living room lamp
The Zipato RGB light is easy to install and control with Smartthings to change color, brightness.I use Alexa to turn on/off the light, change color and create Routines. I can program the light with WebCore to be turning on with motion and much more. Your imagination is the limit. The price is not good, because is expensive, but it works good. For that I don't give a 5 star.

Fantastic bulb, GREAT color!
What a great bulb! I've been trying to set up a hybrid z-wave and zigbee system using the SmartThings hub. I tried several other bulbs from two other manufacturers and they were very hit or miss, and the LED color was horrible on all of them. THIS bulb's LED color is _fantastic_. Full hue control with great color representation and a nice gentle-yet-responsive dimmer. My only small complaint(*) is that through the SmartThings hub I don't get the "White Color Warmth" mode that some other bulbs get, which means I have to use the RGB color wheel to try and pick the warmth of the light I want when I don't want mood (color) lighting, which can be a bit difficult to do. The other bulbs had a special slider for this. That might be a zigbee thing though, as this is my first z-wave bulb.*: Edit - it turns out that Alexa understands how to speak to the bulb through SmartThings in a way that it can properly set the color for automation! Funny that SmartThings' own app can't do that but Alexa can _through_ SmartThings. So, automated color now! Yay!Just be careful, this is a small bulb intended for a E26, E27, or B22 socket - NOT a standard A-sized bulb. It's the socket you usually find in small bedside table lamps, and some Ikea floor lamps. They were meant for dimmer light back in the incandescent days, although obviously since this is an LED it can get very bright or very dim, no problem.

Status gets out of sync with SmartThings (but can be resynchronized)
The bulb works all right, but it doesn't reliably report its status (on/off, color, etc.) to SmartThings. So SmartThings does a good job controlling the bulb with the default handler (for an Aeon bulb, as this bulb doesn't have a handler of its own), but the bulb gets "out of sync", and then the controlling functions are also out of sync (the bulb won't turn off if SmartThings thinks the bulb is already off, for example). I think the issue is with the bulb, not SmartThings—the bulb seems not to be telling its own Z-wave chip to send updates to SmartThings, as I'm not seeing status updates reported to SmartThings when I review events in the IDE. I can hit "refresh" in SmartThings to poll the device, and then it reliably updates its status, but the bulb doesn't seem to be internally designed or configured exactly right to report status updates reliably as they happen.

Warning - does not work with Alarm.com
Alarm.com used to support (still does) the V1 of this bulb for RGB function. But now changing colors just dims the bulb. This has been the case for at least 6 months now with no future fix in sight! So if you are not using a dedicated controller and expect to tie it into your ADC installation, look elsewhere. To Zipato - please reach out to Alarm.com and get this fixed asap. You have a great product here - but it's basically a white bulb for a premium price until you all fix it.

Z-wave bulb Intergrates Well with Smartthings
The bulb easily installs and integrates with Smartthings hub and Smartthings security via the app. I have it showing red if my smoke, water leak or any of my open/close sensors go off. A rainbow of colors too. The reason for only 4 stars I can not set colors to bulbs when setting routines but I can for the scenes; odd.

one as a dim bulb but white (think like a night light)
An incredible bulb, with an appropriate price given the state of the home automation market. The colors are incredible, and faithfully reproduced. We are using it in our baby's room, triggered into one of four modes: one as a regular light bulb white, one as a dim bulb but white (think like a night light), one as a bright red, one as a dim red (ideally to not disturb the baby). When dimmed, there is a slightly noticeable flicker, but no worse than many LED bulbs operating on 60 Hz.The biggest challenge will be in integrating this into your home automation system. The bulb does what it needs to and pairs as it should. It seems to retain the latest color & brightness setting when power is removed.Hoping for the price to come down a bit, so I can buy more without much thought.

Hmm, has quirks.
I have wanted a Z-Wave RGBW light for some time as the Zigbee versions seem to have flaky operation. This bulb is a little longer than the Osram lighting RGBW, and when installed it shuts off if screwed all the way down like a normal bulb for some reason. The ZWave plus device handlers for this are lacking too on Smartthings, so it is setup by default as a Aeon bulb which it is not. So as of right now the experience I had hoped for has been anything but. Hopefully this bulb will accept all signals and work like it should though.
