AWESOME!
This is an awesome scope. The only drawback is having to change lenses but that is the nature of this type of scope. I purchased it to use for watch repair, but then using a microscope brought me back to my college biology days which prompted me to buy a proper compound microscope. This scope has the little light stage so you can use slides but it's not the same as a compound scope. However it is AMAZING for large items and used as a stereo microscope. I view rocks, insects, plant parts, etc with this scope. The clarity and resolution is is very clear and bright. The adjustable lights are great. The software leaves a little to be desired and it takes some getting used to. Photos and video are a snap...no pun intended.I've found that the SD card needs to be reformatted every time I delete photos or videos from the card which is a nuisance. The card is also a trick to insert back into the slot. I use a rubber tipped tweezer. It's great that the SD card is included though. It also needs a rack and pinion adjustment for the course adjustment instead of the locking screw mechanism which is a bit cumbersome.Overall this scope is great. I recommend the 10" version.

Amazing product - Low price
This digital microscope is wonderful. I use it regularly for watch repair and my helping my wife assess her Disney pin collection. The low price is amazing for what you get.

Perfect for jewelry and watch repair
I was rather skeptical but I’m glad I decided to get it, the focal distance makes working on my watches a breeze. Way easier than trying to use a conventional microscope.

Great help for my part time watchmaker hobby.
I get this microscope like a month ago and I'm so happy with my purchase, I'm not a pro so consider it but I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Fantastic build quality on stand, OK on everything else.
The media could not be loaded. The stand is rock steady - that's great. You rough adjust by moving the entire assembly up and down. Then get close using the geared adjust on the bracket. Then fine tune with the focus dial on the lens holder. It sounds cumbersome, and it is a little - but once locked in, you're all set. For example, if you need to photograph a batch of coins. What I don't like: The focus dial is plastic and it's rough. There's dead spots - where almost 1/2 a turn does nothing at all. It feels really cheap. The build of the lens housings, the entire video element, frame - it's all plastic. One of the retaining threads on a lens (they use metal inserts) was not threaded correctly - I had to clean it up. Light sensitivity. Look at my short video. That's a rose petal. Bright areas really blow-out. There's a "Timelapse" on/off menu option - but no other settings or details. No way to store the lenses! What I do like: the video quality is excellent - 1080p. Pictures are crisp and clean. Video and still specs are decent. Base and supports are solid aluminum. The base and upright, cross bar and main gearing are solid and sturdy.Video is 30 fps, 11866 kbps (11.86 mbps), MP4.Stills average 3.1 meg each, 4032x3024 pixels, 72 dpi. 24 bits, sRGB.Assembly took about 10 minutes. There's an option to screw slide clips into the base, but these would get in the way of anything else. There's also an included plastic box that hold slides that has it a built-in blacklight. It's totally separate and can be placed on the base when needed. If the manufacturer was clever, the slide clips would attach to this box - but they don't. The slide box has two threaded mounting holes for slide clips - but they are 2mm. The included screws are 3mm - for the main base only. It's a decent system, but would benefit from better quality control.

Perfect for My Needs
I do a lot of electronics work at home, I’m getting older, parts keep getting smaller, and my eyes aren’t getting better.I have a big stereo microscope that I use, but it’s a bit limited and takes up a lot of space. It can get uncomfortable to use for long stretches because I need to stay in exactly the same position while working. I’ve needed to take pictures of my work, and lining up my cellphone camera is a pain and usually has poor results. I’ve also needed to replace the illumination lamp bulb a couple of times - and they were very expensive. My wife got me a small USB microscope a while back, and while it was certainly impressive, it was too compact to actually work with. It was great for taking pictures, though. I was hoping that this microscope would be able to replace both of my other solutions, and it turned out to do that pretty well. It’s easy to work on my projects, and it’s also able to take VERY good pictures. For what this costs, it should be expected to work well. The assembly instructions aren’t great, but I still managed to put it together in a few minutes. As soon as I hade it assembled, I tried doing some soldering work. It’s wasn’t quite as easy at first as a stereo microscope because there’s no depth perception, but it only took me a minute or two to adjust to this setup. I found that it was actually easier to work with, because I can just glance down and see what I was working on, unlike my “real” microscope that obscured my workspace. Accidentally poking something with my soldering iron will be a thing of the past. I’ll be able to work faster and with less of a strained back.I also really like that the lens can be used at a very adjustable height. It can be raised quite high to get it out of the range of my tools and still focus perfectly, at the expense of slightly less optical magnification. On my old microscope, I had a very narrow focus range, so there wasn’t as much flexibility. This one is great. The interchangeable lenses are very nice, too. I really wasn’t expecting to get as high of a magnification that is possible with this setup. The kit comes with a light box and some sample slides, and I was quite pleased at how well this could bring out the microscopic details. It was much better than I had thought it would be.The large screen is very crisp and clear. The image is high resolution and has a nice, wide viewing angle. It has buttons for digital zoom and for snapping pictures onto the included 32GB SD card. The picture quality is also outstanding. The gooseneck lights are also very nice, providing plenty of illumination and flexibility to get the light where you need it.The base and boom stand are also top-notch, providing a stable, adjustable platform,. It comes with some clips that seem to be designed to use with glass slides that mount to the base, but they really serve no use. They’re located too close to the mounting hardware at the rear of the stand, so they’re not even in the range of the optics. A better place for the clips would be on the light box, but as another reviewer mentioned, the threads on the light box are M2 and this comes with M3 screws. The app that goes with this that can measure things in the images is neat, but it seems like some of the features are buggy and cause the program to crash. If you want to measure things, you’ll need to calibrate if first with a ruler, but it’s fairly easy. Adding labeled dimensions onto the photos is a very nice, professional touch.I see that another reviewer mentions “dead spots” in the focusing knob, but that’s not really the case. The internal lens inside the microscope has a bit of autofocus, so when the image is grossly out of focus and you’re trying to adjust it, the internal autofocus is also trying to focus, so it might seem like turning the knob has no effect sometimes. There are no dead spots, and you’ll quickly be able to clearly focus the image. The internal autofocus makes it slightly easier to get a perfect focus, so the knob isn’t as twitchy. It’s a very nice focus system once you understand what is happening.Overall, I’m am very pleased with this digital microscope, even more than I thought I would be. This is the perfect solution for my home electronics lab, and it takes up a lot less space than my old setup. This is a solid 5-star microscope in my opinion. One last thing: this doesn’t come with a USB power supply, so you’ll need to provide your own source of power. I was using an old iPhone charger, and I found that it didn’t provide enough power to use the LED lights at full brightness. If I increased the illumination level, the screen would turn off because the lights were taking too much power. A higher powered charger allows you to use the lamps at full brightness.
