The Large Empanada Maker Mold Kit cutting ring is too small. So when you place the pastry in the black plastic foldy thing, it's too small and so it doesn't seal, so that is useless, but you can use it to make giant biscuits. The black foldy thing that you put the pastry in works when you have the pastry hanging over the sides, BUT do not overfill, as when you come to seal the pastry, any overfilling or too much gravy-type liquid/sauce will result in it bulging out and if the pastry gets liquid stuff on it, it wont seal properly and also if will buldge out of the back when you fold it over, same will happen if your pastry is too thin. But you do get a recipe book and 2 little bowls with it.

This is large indeed and exactly what I was looking for. It durable and easy to use. You find 2 large moulders and 2 bowl, 1 disc cutter and 1 knife and a recipe booklet! 💃💃💃💃💃 Please my fellow Nigerians this one is perfect for our Nigerian meatpie ☺️ PLEASE RUN AND GRAB YOURS!

I like this item. I use it for all sorts. Cornish pasties. Apple turn overs as well as tacos it has a book with it that is useful.

Bought as a christmas gift so haven't opened it up but looks a very nice gift, would definitely recommend

I like the empanada maker but inexplicably you get two the same size - I'd have preferred two of different sizes. I struggle to envisage the industrial levels of empanada making you would do given you've bought an empanada starter kit - one imagines, like me, because you had some on holiday and fancied giving them a go. The disc cutter is too small. It's 0.5cm bigger in diameter than the mould but when it sits in the dip for the filling it's approx the same size as the 'machine.' This means that sometimes you open it up and it's barely sealed, sometimes it's not. Invariably I had to folk the edges rather than the neatness / satisfaction of the in-built crimping pattern. I have to find a 17cm cutter, these come in sets and don't look cheap. The recipe book doesn't actually include a recipe for the dough. Loads of other recipes but I still had to go on line to find out how to make the empanadas.. The "knife" is neither use nor ornament. I have no use for the bowls. I really enjoyed making empanadas, everyone loved the Hairy Biker's recipe. Not sure you need to buy a kit. It's mildly irritating that the makers haven't considered the above given who is likely to buy this.

I visit a restaurant in Spain where they offer 15 choices of empanadas and always wanted to do them myself. This is a really good if you like empanadas. The cutter works perfectly and they can be gently eased out of it from from the hinged end. The recipe book is very good but most are for 12 empanadas so you need to scale down. Used them with ready made pastry sheets and just perfect for the job.

A pricey purchase at current rate of exchange but I think it was worth it. Suggest store bought puff pastrysheets for use and bake rather than fry for Caloric benefit. Totally versatile food item variable from vegetarian to non vegetarian and all shades in between. I was able to use my toaster (on high) and got away with it. To be safe ideally bake it.2 large ons will satisfy even the hungriest consumer. I wonder if it will catch on in the 'markets' Certainly a worthy present to a good friend who likes to cook.
