Good supplement.

I started taking this because a family member said it got his genetically-high cholesterol down to normal levels. I have the same problem, so decided it couldn't hurt to try. So while I still have a few months to go before I have my next labs, I'm very optimistic about this for three reasons: 1) My blood pressure (bp) had dropped at my last check. I don't have problems with high blood pressure, but am aware that turmeric is known to help lower bp so it's clearly doing something. 2) I've had joint and muscle pain for years and have noticed improvents in that department since I started taking this product. I've even been able to return to an exercise regimen that I haven't been able to do for 15 years because of pain. 3) Most incredibly, after about a week on turmeric, I woke up one morning and felt better emotionally than I have for most of my life...literally as if an enormous weight had been lifted away. As someone who has suffered with anxiety and depression my entire life, this was huge. At first, I couldn't figure out why I felt so good, then realized that the only thing I was doing differently was taking turmeric. I had NO idea it was even used for anxiety/depression and had only ever started it for the cholesterol because I cannot tolerate the awful side-effects I have on statins. Some quick research revealed studies that found turmeric to be more effective than Prozac, but without the side-effects. Bottom Line: This stuff has been a miracle for me. I don't know yet if it will have any impact on my genetically-high cholesterol, but even if it doesn't I'll definitely keep taking this product for the astounding emotional benefits I've experienced. To feel this wonderfully calm and happy with no side-effects is something I never thought possible, and for that alone I couldn't be more grateful.

I like the ease of swallowing, for the turmeric capsules. However, I do recommend taking with or after a meal. It has a strong aftertaste, otherwise! I started taking turmeric while reducing, then stopping,, an arthritis medication. My doctor had recommended turmeric for pain relief, while warning me that the turmeric would provide more subtle pain control. The turmeric is helpful, but of course, no cure.

I have arthritis in both knees. Actually, I need to have them replaced. About 2 years ago, I was in my pharmacy looking for anything to ease the pain and I saw this product. The reason I bought it was because the store was offering it as a buy one get one free offer. Anyway, I began taking it and 3 weeks later, my pain was greatly diminished. Apparently, tumeric has been used for centuries as an anti-inflamatory. It has not eliminated my pain, but it has lessened it. It is certainly not a cure all, but I have found it to be helpful.
