DEWALT Drill Bit Set, Brad Point, 6-Piece (DW1720) , Black

First time drilling for a craft idea I have. These drill bits are sharply cut. The brad point helps with centering on the sides of cut branches. They drilled through very well; even fibrous bittersweet vines. The set had four of the sizes I needed. The other two are handy duplicates that I can use as well. It seems they'll be durable. Price is reasonable. Best of all, I saved myself the hassle of trying to make sense of what was available at the big box home repair stores.

These are necessary if you're working in wood. Very good quality.

Drilled very smooth holes for shelf pins. Dewalt seems like a good brand.

The bits worked when I used them on wood and they showed no sign of wear and tear. Maybe my expectations were artificially high because I have been using a set of DeWalt bits as my go-to bits for years. These bits drilled inconsistently. Sometimes they drilled through the wood with ease while in at least two other cases they were so slow I had to check to make sure I hadn't put the drill in reverse. For the price, I'd get them again, but I also wouldn't be surprised if there are similar bits in the same price range that drill with more consistency.

Good quality. Points are holding up. On cheaper bits the points wear down quickly.

I've used a couple of these so far. I drilled (20) 3/8" holes 3/4" deep in walnut and the drill is as sharp as it was when new. Obviously you have to take your time and not feed the bit to fast to avoid damage. I suspect these drill bits will last me a long time. They are several steps above the ones I have from the other side of the world.

These are good drill bits for use on wood. They are easy to position, and cut nice clean holes, in dense and softer woods too. The prominently placed cutting edge, reduces friction, makeing faster and cleaner, holes than most other "wood" bits do. The drill cuttings easily exit the generous sized spiral trough provided. I expect to be using these drill bits for a long time. In this case - "you get what you pay for".

Difficult to get the old imperial sizes in the UK or 1/2 sizes in millimetre drills above about 3mm. Luckily found these in the States. Well made too with precise centering of the Brad Point. Delivery times weren't bad either considering the distance they have come, arriving over a week earlier than forecast. Thanks.
