Tentacles (Cryptid Hunters #2)

I started reading this book on the suggestion of Michael P. Spradlin who wrote Killer Species. I'm a 50 year old women that enjoys reading various types of books. My daughter didn't want to read Killer Species and I decided to read it instead. After I read it, I decided to read Tentacles. With regard to reading these 2 books by different authors, I found Roland Smith writing way better. You don't need descriptions to visualize things. Where as with Killer species I found that you did on some aspect. I found from reading various reviews that this book is a continuation, which it seems. Since the story mention the Congo and what happened in the past off an on. I believe boys and girls will enjoy this book and it's very entertaining. If I didn't have to work, I would be reading it all day until finished.

This is a great 2nd book in the series. Smith has a gift for writing adventures for the 10-16 year age group. I love that he has action and danger (even deaths), but does not ride on the wave of violence. Smith has a good moral compass and isn't ashamed to make it clear to his readers. Lots of cool facts without being tedious. I SURE WISH BOOK 1 WERE AVAILABLE ON KINDLE.

Love the characters,setting, and plot taking place. Absolutely amazing book

This was a good sequel to Cryptid Hunters by the same author, which I read a few months ago and I am currently reading to my fifth grade students. Tentacles was a bit more violent than Cryptid Hunters, but leaves you wanting to read the third book, Chupacabra, which will be released October 13. Like all of Roland Smith's books, the intense adventure sucks you in and you want to read more. I would recommend this for kids 10 and up and for adults who would like a quick read that entertains you without draining your brain. No cussing, but does have action violence and some more mature themes like kidnapping, breaking the law, and child endangerment, but the author handles these very well. This is not a syrupy sweet story where the "good guy" always wins, but the reality is that isn't real life.

Never knew their was a sequel to a book I read as a teenager. Now as an adult can't contain my excitement and overall enjoyment to this series and book! Highly recommended for all ages!

This is a great book. I have read a lot of books by Roland Smith. They all were great. All of my family enjoys read Mr. Smith's book. My 10 year old son and I battles over reading this book first. I can't wait until the next one in this series is ready. These books and full of excitement. I think you'll enjoy reading them too.

Roland Smith writes great adventure books!! Youth through adult readers will find each of them worth the time taken to settle down with a good book!! Of those I've read, this one is 2nd in a series of 3. Read "Cryptid Hunters" first, "Tentacles" second, and "Chupacabra" third.

Great story; had me guessing the entire way through! And Marty still has a job to complete for Grace; He has to squeeze the monkey's arm.
