Parakeets: Everything About Selection, Care, Nutrition, Behavior, and Training (A Complete Pet Owner's Manual) Paperback – January 1, 2012

This book is an excellent source of information about parakeets. The author is thorough and clear in sharing general information about parakeets and about what it really takes to care for these wonderful pets. I would recommend getting this manual before getting a parakeet in order to be fully prepared to share you home with one or more of them.

This book provides very basic information, enough for a child whose adopted a parakeet, but not enough for an adult who wants more complete information.

I liked the book. It gave basic information that new owners need. Also, gave tips and little bits of extra information.

I was very disappointed with this book. I had already done some minor research online about budgies, and was having issues finding a reliable website that answered most or all of my questions. I got this book to answer the questions I couldn't find the answers to - like what should be in the bird's cage, or what the budgie should be fed. This book did not answer ANY of my questions. All it listed was information that I already found easily online. It was a waste of time and money. If you don't want to do any research besides reading one book, I still wouldn't recommend this - there are better books out there that cover parakeet care much more extensively, but will still give you the information that this book gives you.I gave it two stars because for some, this book could still be useful, but it was useless to me.
