I’ve had great experiences with TP-Link products, and the Tapo Smart Plug Mini is no exception. This 4-pack offers excellent value, and setup was incredibly easy. As always, no hub required and everything runs smoothly on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. What really impressed me is how feature-rich these plugs are: Scheduling and timers work perfectly for managing lights and small appliances. Runtime stats give insight into power usage, which is helpful for monitoring high-use devices. Away mode and smart actions add security and automation. Alexa and Google Home integration is seamless—I’ve had no issues controlling devices with voice commands. These devices pay for themselves when you calculate the cost savings they provide leveraging the scheduling features. They also have great range—I have one running in the attic and another outside in a dry box controlling flood lights, and both maintain strong, stable connections. Overall, these are smart, dependable, and thoughtfully designed. I highly recommend this 4-pack for anyone starting or expanding a smart home setup.

This has been very good, easy to install and reliable. Others I've had in the past would constantly lose connection. Not this one. The app responds in half a second. I need to buy more for other areas of the home.

I originally purchased another brand because they specifically advertised a sunrise/sunset programming function; when that one didn't do what it was supposed to do I returned them and purchased the Tapo plugs. These work great and each plug can be set to turn on or turn off at sunrise and at sunset; both with offsets by the hour or minute. I now have one set to turn on plant lights 30 minutes after sunrise, and another set to turn on patio lights 45 minutes before sunset, for example. Both (that I'm using so far) were easy to set up in about 3 minutes each and the Tapo app is pretty much the same as every smart home app; it's easy to organize devices and even easier to set up schedules or to manually control devices. I've had trouble in the past with smart plugs that couldn't handle much amperage; these can handle a full 15 amps while most cannot. At about $5 each in a four pack, these were a great value for a trusted brand. So far, the wifi connectivity has been strong and stable with my devices both within 25 feet of the router; sometimes it is necessary to add a range extender near devices such as this due to their need to be on a wall near wiring that often interferes with wifi signals. I highly recommend this product.

The folks at Belkin decided to end ALL support for their Wemo Smart Plugs at the end of January 2026, which left a lot of users with a bunch of obsolete (and useless) Smart Plugs. Fortunately, if you're in that situation, the good folks at TP-Link have a perfect solution: the TP-Link Smart Plug. Having migrated from Wemo plugs to TP-Link Plugs, I can honestly say the transition to the TP-Link plugs was very smooth and free of any issues with the actual devices themselves. I did encounter a small issue when trying to program the plugs using the Tapo app, but a call to Tapo app support provided a quick resolution. I also integrated the TP-Link smart plugs with Google Home very easily to provide added flexibility and control. Since the transition, the Smart Plugs have worked flawlessly with both the Tapo app and Google Home. I'd even go so far as to say they are more reliable than the Wemo plugs. There were numerous times when the Wemo plugs would go off-line or simply disappear from the network, which then required a manual reboot of the plug. If that happened when you're home, it was simply annoying. If that happened when I was away from home, it was frustrating and very inconvenient. So the transition to TP-Link Smart Plugs has actually been a noticeable improvement over the Wemo plugs.

I had 2 of these plugged in and programmed in about 5 minutes. The quality is nice. They are easy to use, with some app setup, but not too complicated. One is on a daily timer, the other is controlled by voice. Timer functions flawlessly, and has not lost wifi connection. Using my phone as remote control via voice, is so convenient for my bed side lamp.

Es el segundo paquete de contactos que compro. Los puedo manejar vía remota, fuera de mi casa. La conexión vía wifi es sencilla. Este enchufe está conectado a un Hub de la misma marca y a un sensor de temperatura, este último cuando está por arriba de un cierto valor que configure le manda una señn para prender el enchufe inteligente que este a su vez enciende un ventilador.

Los he usado poco para aplicaciones muy simples, pero han funcionado bien, la app es amigable, los volvería a comprar.

Using the Tapo Smart Plug Mini for my sump pump and it is working nicely. The automation is very good. I can easily set when the plug should be ON and OFF, which is quite helpful. The app is simple and does the job properly. One small issue is that the timer works only in minutes. For sump pump usage, seconds-level timing would be much better. I don’t want the pump to run for one full minute when there is no water, because it may start sucking air and that is not good for the pump. If this feature is added, it will be excellent. The size is small and compact, so it doesn’t block other sockets. Network connectivity is also good, no disconnection problems so far. Overall, it is a good and reliable smart plug. With more precise timing control, it can easily be a 5-star product.
