Paid for new but got an opened item
All seemed to be there and undamaged, but the parts had just been lashed into the damaged box any old how. Clearly a returned item. Can’t be bothered to send back as I got it for a good price but took a star off the review.I agree that the instructions are awful but the diagrams and a bit of common sense will allow you to put it together easily enough. Not massively sturdy but good enough for the stated purpose.

Dremel drill stand - Extra assembly info
Although I have a pedestal bench drill in the main workshop, I was looking for a smaller one for my modelmaking room.I did consider a stand for a normal corded/battery hand drill but this again was a bit too large, as I alrerady have a Workzone (Aldi) mini drill/multi tool like the Dremel, I checked "on line" to see if it would fit and it seems most? of these types of tool have a removable collar (photo) which if it is 3/4 inch 12 threads per inch (tpi) it will fit and the locking nut as shown in the Dremel video works well to lock the tool in place. As you can see from the photos the Workzone tool will fit in two ways and still allow access for the shaft locking pin.It is easy to assemble but note that the smaller self locking centre shaft needs to be inserted correctly to work properly (photo's) as the shaft can be extended and retracted with a twist to lock in position and do not forget to check that the alignment shaft screws (photo) are correctly adjusted to ensure there is the minimum play in the toolholder assembly when used as a vertical drill as this can affect accuracy. Must be screwed down onto a bench before use !! to ensure safety for the Operator and avoid damage to equipment.Altogether I am very pleased with this item as the build quality, design features and attention to detail makes it a worthwhile addition to my workshop. Excellent Value !!

Makes much more of your Dremel rotary tool!
This workstation is essentially a drill press stand for your Dremel rotary tool, except with a couple of added features. It comes in the box in a few pieces which you need to assemble. If you own a Dremel rotary tool and actually use it, you must be a fairly practical, hands on person and therefore should have no trouble assembling the workstation. It takes less than ten minutes. Once assembled, you just remove the collar from the rotary tool and insert it into the mount on the workstation, then screw the large plastic nut around the end of the rotary tool by hand, before tightening it with the supplied spanner (no need to over tighten). Simples. The power cable can be clipped securely at the top of the workstation. The arm to lower the rotary tool is very smooth and well controlled. Some users have reported that there is a little play in the device, resulting in poor accuracy. I can confirm that there is a small amount of play, but it doesn't cause a problem unless maybe you were drilling PCBs and needed very, very precise control over positioning. However, if you need such precise control, then you ought to punch the PCB before you drill, which will prevent the bit from wandering on the board. You may wonder if you should have to do that if you are buying this workstation. This is a sub £40 workstation and does not pretend to be a £150 rotary tool press. If you need such precision, then you need to be realistic and pay for the privilege. There are such devices available, but at no where near the price of the Dremel workstation. Now that's cleared up, I can tell you that I am very impressed with this workstation. It's compact and light. It is balanced enough to stand upright in operation without falling. However, you can easily mount it to your workbench using the bolt holes - M6 bolts will work fine (length obviously depending on what you are mounting it to).One feature of this workstation that makes it different to a drill press is the ability to reposition the angle of the rotary tool - in fact, the whole mount rotates, up to 90 degrees, in 15 degree increments This allows you to drill at an angle or even sideways. It also allows you to use the rotary tool as a very mini bench grinder or polisher. This can be useful for using a polishing wheel to buff small items. At the top of the workstation is a very handy storage device - you can store plenty of accessories to swap out during your work. There is a clip to hold the cable in place, out of harm's way and even a home for the included spanner. In the photo you may notice a thin metal arm that hangs off the top. This is to hand your rotary tool from when you are using the flexible attachment (if you have one). This Dremel workstation is a fantastic product. It does what it says it does very well. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a Dremel rotary tool.
