Can you use this while the fireplace is on? Probably not but thought I’d ask

ABSOLUTELY NOT! NO FIRE, NO PILOT ON....THE HEAT HAS TO ESCAPE...IT IS TO KEEP OUT THE HEAT IN THE SUMMER AND COLD ON THE WINTER IF YOU ARE NOT USING THE FIREPLACE

As long as you secure it tightly around your vent it will keep out moisture. We have had a lot of rain and have had no problems.
